Find My Favourite Holiday Cottages in the Kyle of Lochalsh

Whilst the area of Kyle of Lochalsh is often passed through en route to the Isle of Skye via the Skye Bridge, the town and surrounding countryside have so much to offer in its own right. A surefire indicator of its appeal is the wide range of suitable quality holiday cottages available to book in and around the Kyle of Lochalsh. The mountains that rise above Skye provide some of the best high-level walks in the UK, and the Five Sisters of Kintail are a challenge for the best of ramblers, affording plenty of opportunities for ‘Munro Bagging’. The nearby picturesque village of Plockton is famous for being the home of Hamish Macbeth in the TV series of that name and has been used for many other TV and film shoots.

Kyle-of-Lochalsh is a great place to make a base to explore the surrounding mainland and the Isle of Skye, easily accessible via the Skye Bridge (or by ferry from Glenelg to Kylerheain during the summer months). The walks on Skye or around the town of Lochalsh are beautiful. Discover Britain’s highest waterfall and the beauty of Glen Shiel, steeped in Jacobite history. Take a glass-bottom boat trip from the harbour, watch seals lounge on the rocks and dolphins frolic in the bay, or go further out to sea to enjoy some whale-watching.
