This cottage was everything you could wish for and more, home from home. The cottage was spotless, well equipped and welcoming. The owners were easy to contact and a pleasure to know, they thought of everything you might need. We intend to go back next year, as we both fell in love with the place, a must try place and cottage.
by Mr Partis on April 10th 2016
A very beautiful cottage which was very clean and well maintained. Had good communication with the owners. Highly recommended!
A beautiful cottage in wonderful countryside by bev2512 on February 13th 2016
We have just returned from an excellent stay in this beautiful, well equipped and cosy cottage. Lovely welcome pack on arrival which even included biscuit treats for our dog. The standard of this cottage was amazing, everything was spotlessly clean including bed linen, towels and bathrobes. The owners of the cottage obviously believe in going that extra mile to ensure guests are happy and it certainly worked for us. We would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage and will certainly be coming back ourselves. Also a mention to the Bolton Arms which is a stones throw from the cottage door and offers great food and good company. We were made to feel really welcome along with biscuits for our dog! Well done Keith and Joy.
by Mrs Hayes on February 7th 2016
This cottage was delightful. Beautifully furnished and had everything we needed
by Mrs Nelson on January 5th 2016
Went for a New Year break. Sweet Pea cottage is a lovely cottage, everything we wanted and more. Could not fault it. Comfortable beds, top quality bed linen and towels and stocked with everything we needed.. Lovely village and the pub, Bolton Arms, is a 'must' visit, the food in there is fantastic. Highly recommend Sweet Pea Cottage.
by Ms Smith on December 14th 2015
Sweet Pea Cottage was warm and welcoming and the owners were very thoughtful and hospitable. Quiet location with plenty of walks for the dog, and locals were friendly and there was a great pub serving excellent food just along the road. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could wish for. We even got to sit out in the sunshine in the garden having breakfast on the 1st and 2nd of November! Perfect holiday and a quality property.
by Mr Rowley on November 30th 2015
In a lovely village, very good as a base for walking. A good pub for food and beer is a short walk away. The property was excellent, felt 'at home' immediately.
by Mr Lincoln on July 19th 2015
Five star, faultless and a credit to the owner.
by Ms Wellings on April 22nd 2015
The cottage was one of the best I have stayed in, and I have stayed in quite a few. The attention to detail and Redmire itself combined to make a wonderful stay. The owner was exceptional in her care and concern. I would not hesitate to recommend Sweet Pea Cottage to anyone wishing to go to Yorkshire.
by Mrs Burton on January 6th 2015
Everything you could need was in the cottage and more!
by Mrs Burton on June 23rd 2014
Sweet Pea cottage is just beautiful, and we can not fault it in any way. There are so many little touches that the owners have thought of, it is by far the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. We will definitely be booking another stay!
by Mrs Walker on June 15th 2014
A beautiful village location, also nice little touches of personal "smellys" and dressing gowns. It had everything you needed, a home from home. Loved Sweet Pea Cottage, the owners of this cottage excelled everything.
by Mr Kierans on May 18th 2014
The best cottage we have ever stayed in without doubt!
by Mrs Dewilde on April 24th 2014
The cottage was very cosy, clean and well equipped. Special care was taken by the owner to make us feel at home with a welcoming basket, dog snacks and Easter decorations. We can't fault the property in any way.
Excellent cottage in beautiful surroundings. by Gerry D on April 23rd 2014
When the only negative thing you can come up with about your stay in Sweet pea Cottage is that the complimentary Laura ashley handlotion in the bathroom wasn't the best you ever had, well, then you know you've found perfection. The Yorkshire Dales are a truly beautiful piece of Britain and this cottage is situated perfectly for a comfortable base of operations to explore the area. Redmire is in the northern part of the Dales and provides easy access to the nearby town of Leyburn for shopping and dining. If you take a big step from the front door of Sweet Pea Cottage you immediately step inside the Bolton arms pub, just a few meters down the road. A nice, cosy and friendly atmosphere and good , honest pub grub. Try the Theakson dark for a nice ale. The cottage itself sleeps four people in two bedrooms, located on the top floor. A compact but squaky clean and cosy bathroom with toilet is also situated there. The ground floor has a spacious and well equipped kitchen where you can cook and dine. The owners, who, unfortunately we didn't meet, provided us with a very nice complimentary welcome-basket with tea and breakfast rolls and because we were there in the week before Easter, chocolate eggs and bunnies for my kid. They even provided doggy snacks for our pooch Lewis! The living area is very tastefully decorated and offers comfortable seating, a well stocked wood burner and all the entertainment you could want: tv, sat, dvd, music set... A little hall way through to the back entrance was the perfect spot for the doggie bench. We can't recommend this cottage enough: it's all you need for a relaxing stay in the Dales. We walked the public footpaths around the area almost every day and took some trips to the seaside and to Grassington. Yorkshire people are very accomodating and nice to talk to so we were never left wanting for anything. Try sweet Pea cottage on your next visit to the Dales; you won't regret it. We will return for sure!

by Miss Winter on March 23rd 2014
This was a very well presented property with a thoughtful selection of useful and nice things available on arrival. On holiday with our two-year old, we especially appreciated the basket of toys and the beautiful baby linen and towels. The food at the pub was spot on, village really peaceful and ideal for walking.
by Mrs Wain on June 12th 2013
Home-from-home. Obviously a lot of care and attention to detail was evident throughout the property. The owners were friendly and easy to communicate with. The location was perfect. The locals were friendly. The property was well kept with lots of little extras to make it very easy to settle in quickly. Definitely 5*.

The cottage was more than we could have asked for, particularly the personal touches such as bathrobes and toiletry packs for each person and the welcome pack. It was definitely a home from home in a beautiful setting.
by Mrs Dean on August 18th 2012
The cottage was like home from home. Everything you could need was there. The attention to detail was brilliant.
by Mr Cole on August 3rd 2012
Redmire's location was excellent. The local pub served good quality food, at very reasonable prices, and made you feel very welcome. Sweet Pea Cottage is a little gem! It was very clean and comfortable and the owners obviously take pride in it. I would certainly recommend it. My wife and I loved it and hope to return.
by Mrs Edwards on July 25th 2012
We have stayed in many holiday cottages over a period of thirty years, in fact this was cottage No 42. Sweet Pea is the best cottage we have ever stayed in. The attention to detail and generous extras make this an outstanding property. We have stayed in five star properties that were quite expensive and although we were very happy with them they were not as good as Sweet Pea.
by Mrs Coverdale on July 25th 2012
This was our 2nd stay at Sweet Pea Cottage and again we had a good time. The cottage is great, very clean and comfortable and has everything you need for a good holiday. The pub is only a few yards from the cottage and serves good meals. Redmire train station is only 5-10 minute walk from the cottage and is very handy to take you into Leyburn. We hope to go back again.
by Mr Metcalfe on January 31st 2012
The cottage was like a home-from-home, there wasn't a thing we needed that hadn't been thought of. Excellent! We would certainly tell friends to go, a beautiful cottage in the heart of Wensleydale
Excellent Cottage by A FlipKey verified reviewer on December 1st 2011
We had a most enjoyable week, the cottage is beautiful. All the rooms have been thoughtfully decorated, and the kitchen is well stocked to prepare all meals. Redmire is a really picturesque village, with a real village feel. The local pub serves great food and beer. I enjoyed everything about the cottage, so much so that we booked again for next year.
by Mrs Hobbs on November 13th 2011
The good location of the cottage, which was spotlessly clean.

One of the best. by A FlipKey verified reviewer on October 22nd 2011
My husband and I found this cottage to be one of the best we have stayed in. The owners have thought of everything. The pub a few yards away served lovely meals. The only problem we had was that a week was not long enough.
by Mr Adams on October 10th 2011
This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in. The attention to detail was second to none and the many extras supplied by the owners were very much appreciated. A five star cottage on all counts.

Absolutely everything about the cottage including the treats left by the owners. They had thought about everything. We will certainly be coming back. All our future cottage holidays will be compared to this one.
exceptional by A FlipKey verified reviewer on September 16th 2011
Having not ever stayed in the dales before we were a little bit aprehensive but need not have been we were met at our cottage by the owners who were a very charming couple who could not have done more for us. From greeting us on arrival to making sure we had all that we needed for our stay
by Mrs Hooper on August 30th 2011
The cottage was lovely and very cosy. The village was very nice and peaceful and the people were friendly. The surrounding areas were lovely, especially Aysgarth falls. We went there three times and we hope to have another holiday in the Dales.
plure pleasure by A FlipKey verified reviewer on August 18th 2011
Arrived around midday and was able to gain access straight away. Lovely cosy cottage, complete with small food hamper, ie bread biscuits milk and a bottle of wine and bicsuits for our dog. The use of big fluffy dressing gowns and towels. The cottage is just like a 5 star hotel beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The village has one pub with a very friendly atmosphere, over all a very peaceful and restful holiday. We are planning to go back next year it was so lovely.
by Mr Barnes on July 31st 2011
Overall, a very tidy and comfortable property. Very well furnished and provisioned. Good value overall.
by Mrs King on July 31st 2011
This is an outstanding cottage. The owners provide the sorts of extras you'd normally only get at an expensive boutique hotel - fluffy bathrobes and towels, lovely toiletries, wine and groceries, a mobile phone and a toy box etc. They rang to see that we'd arrived safely and to check whether there was anything else we needed. We will definitely go back to Sweet Pea Cottage as our 6-year-old cried when it was time to leave!
by Mrs Gerdes on July 17th 2011
The village of Redmire was quaint and peaceful, the Bolton Arms pub served very good home made food. The location was an ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. We will most certainly be going back again! Sweet Pea Cottage was of the highest standard, we couldn't fault it.

The cottage is extremely comfortable plus it has everything you need for cosyness to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the village. The cottage is luxurious and of a very high quality. Just perfect! by A FlipKey verified reviewer on November 11th 2010
Nothing to fault at all on this property. We are regular cottage users and found the service and facilities at `Sweet-Pea` cottage outstanding and way above any usual expectations. Hope we get to stay again :)
Just perfect. by A FlipKey verified reviewer on November 7th 2010
I have already left a review on the website but just to add...this was the nicest and best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in. If it were mine, I would not let anyone stay in it as it was so well maintained with quality furnishings. A fantastic welcome package was left for us which would have fed us for a couple of days if we'd been snowed in, in august! Lovely place and lovely owners.
by Mr Parke on October 25th 2010
The owners had gone that 'extra mile' with little touches like leaving complimentary bottles of wine and groceries and a mobile phone on the only network that works in the village. Some may frown, but very handy when unforeseen family matters arise.
wonderfully relaxing cottage by A FlipKey verified reviewer on September 27th 2010
A lovely presented and furnished cottage in a wonderful location and so comforting to come home to after a day out enjoying the glorious dales countryside. Will definately come back.
by Mr Curtis on September 22nd 2010
The cottage was perfect. The attention to detail from the owner, first class. We have stayed in a lot of self catering accommodation and paid more money but never felt so welcome or pampered and we only booked last minute! The location is also ideal for a walking, exploring holiday. Of course the good weather helped! Many thanks.
Excellent Cottage by A FlipKey verified reviewer on September 17th 2010
Sweet Pea Cottage is a beautiful cottage with everything provided and more for an excellent holiday. Greeted warmly by the owners. So many home comforts and provisions provided.
by Mrs Pitman on September 6th 2010
Loving attention has gone into every aspect of this holiday property. The owners have thought of things from the guests' point of view so you have everything you need to hand and can relax. We've not stayed anywhere so lovingly put together in 17 years of holidaying in UK rental properties - they've set the bar to a new high! The photos can't fully show the quality and detail that make this cottage so perfect. Redmire is a lovely place, people were really friendly and the sun shone. We had the best time. Many thanks.
by Shoebridge on September 6th 2010
Absolutely stunning cottage with every thing you could possibly want and more you wouldn't have dreamt of! Probably our favourite cottage ever stayed in. Thank you
by Mr Parnell on September 1st 2010
This was 5*! What a surprise to find that the owner had left us a fantastic food hamper of bread, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, wine chilling in the fridge and a cake. The cottage was beautiful - top quality furniture, curtains, bedding and towels. So well thought out and so well equipped. Fresh free range eggs are on sale daily from the farm directly opposite the cottage. Everything you could want and more in a beautiful area with Asygarth Falls a steady walk away. The steam train runs from Redmire to Leeming Bar and vintage buses run from the train station too. Reeth, Hawes and Leyburn are well worth visiting. Very peaceful.
by Mrs Bains on August 2nd 2010
Sweet Pea Cottage(Redmire) was the best holiday we have ever had. It was perfect, the cottage was like being at home. People in the village were very friendly.
