We loved it

This was a last minute booming to replace a washed out camping trip and we're very glad we changed our plans. Lovely cottage, well appointed and spacious and without that "holiday cottage" smell that you get so often. Very clean and bright rooms and welcomed our canine companion happily too. Fresh bread baking on arrival and a home made cake waiting too which was very welcome. The wood burning stove was great.
Perfect position for exploring the North Yorkshire moors and close to the coast too. The pub quiz in the local pub was enormous fun on Sunday night too.

Our only tiny critcism is that for people who really like to cook when we go away, a few more pots, utensils and pans would be welcome in the kitchen.

Highly recommended!! Thank you very much

A brilliant place to stay

Everything was just right for an excellent family holiday. Clean, the beds were comfortable, there was plenty to entertain the kids and it was in a good position for getting to a range of venues. Just don't eat at the village pub-had to be the worst food and least friendly waitress-although the beer and landlord werte good.

Great, family-friendly cottage

We enjoyed a great family Christmas at this lovely family-friendly cottage. Plenty of room for us all (6 adults, 2 children, a baby and a dog) and the games room was a big hit with everyone. The large kitchen with a table big enough to seat everyone was brilliant. The children had great fun with the 2 staircases - go up one set from the kitchen, through the bedrooms and appear down the other set into the lounge! The little extras provided by the owner (homecade cake, loaf baking in the breadmaker, tea/coffee/milk and sugar) were much appreciated, and an especially nice touch were the little gifts left under the Christmas tree for the children. We hope to return and would definitely recommend this cottage.

Great family holiday with a warm welcome

Loved this cottage. Great location. Three families stayed for new year. Very well equipped. Made to feel really welcome with homemade bread and cake on arrival. Warm, clean and great for a large party. Kids loved the games room. Great farmhouse kitchen and table for family meals. Only downside was layout of bedrooms. Three families staying together and we had to compromise over bedrooms ie only 2 double rooms. Loved the real fire. Great for cosy evenings and bottle of wine.

lacked quality

Stayed here last year (sorry its late but just started looking for this years break).By the photos it looked ideal,3 teenagers with us ,so games room and football pitch helped. But rest let it down badly, the beds were so uncomfortable we all slept badly, deceptively busy road right next to bedrooms, the shower over the bath was a joke.you would get more water from a leaking gutter! the on-suite was ok, the plates wouldn't fit in the dishwasher. The whole place felt very dated. For that sort of money i expect a bit better quality of finish.

Spacious and cozy holiday home, loved it!

Just back from our stay at Boundcliffe Farm. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It's rare to find a holiday home that accommodates so many while not at any point feeling crowded. The place had everything we needed and more. Loved the games room and all the little extras, toys DVDs (well VHS actually but that was wonderfully retro). The children loved the little door and ran round and round the house. A working farm so cows, horses and tractors all around.

For the adults the log fire, darts and pool while the kids slept meant that we didn't miss the pub in evening at all.

To top it off a homemade cake and bread in the breadmaker greeted us upon arrival. Lots of very thoughtful little touches.

All in all a fab place and we're already planning a return trip.

The perfect family getaway

Recently returned from a long weekend at Boundcliffe Farm with the family. Cottage the perfect size for the 10 of us.Loved the little 'secret' door between the 2 bedrooms and the younger kids loved running up and down the 2 staircases. Obviously got to mention the freshly cooked bread and cake on arrival. We all made good use of the games room, especially the pool table and dartboard. Despite the weather we enjoyed playing on the trampoline at the back. The whole accommodation was spacey but cosy and the wood burning fire was perfect for the dark evenings. Can't really fault anything, as everything we needed was there (though we could have done with instructions on using the dishwasher and electric oven/grill). It's a shame we couldn't have the bonfire the owner was going to arrange one night due to the bad weather. Ideal location and close to Scarborough. Would definitely recommend Boundcliffe Farm and hope to return again maybe in the summer months,

Susan R

We booked as a small group of friends who wanted to just chill out together for the weekend and this is exactly what we did. We couldn't have wished for a warmer welcome. The guys enjoyed the games room whilst the girls mainly lounged in the living room and kitchen. We had a ride out to Scarborough for a few hours then back to the cottage to chill out.

Miss Weir

Lovely and peaceful. The owners made us very welcome and put a trampoline and basketball nets out for the children. Safe enclosed garden. Walks straight out of back door without going near a road. Beautiful cottage, would definitely come back again.

Mrs Clarke

Greeting on arrival. Bread & cake provided was a nice touch. Outdoor facilities on farm a plus. Central location proved ideal for our extended family group with the seaside and moor villages on the doorstep.

Mr Mason

Lovely warm welcome, bread in the bread maker and a huge chocolate cake! The owners were nearby but not at all intrusive. The location was perfect for all the North York Moors could offer, walking, historic towns and beautiful coastline. I would recommend Boundcliffe Farm.

Mrs Thorpe

Very welcoming, fresh bread and cake baked just for us on arrival. Great location and cottage was perfect.

Mrs Armstrong

Large family kitchen. Comfy lounge and fire. Games room with lots for the kids. Dogs allowed. Location in the village and close to farm and fields. Friendly hosts. We could not fault it.

Mr Sturgess

We had a very relaxing time and the kids thought the games room was fantastic.

Mrs Mendham

Lovely location. Lovely, homely feel with fresh bread and cake on arrival. Owners super super helpful with the amount of snow we had and clearing spaces for the cars etc. Had an amazing time!

Mrs Reece

From arriving to leaving the owner could not have been more friendly, helpful and hospitable. She was wonderful from welcoming us on arrival, to letting us know where she was if we needed her, and finding out information for us. The fresh bread and cake were an added bonus, but even without those the farm, the property, the kind nature of the owner, the location, everything was wonderful. All 8 of my party agreed we would have loved to have stayed for a week. The house itself was beautiful and homely, from the wooden beams in the ceiling to the coal fire, we would loved to have been able to stay longer and do the activities we wanted to, interspersed with relaxing in the farm.

Miss Kershaw

This was the best cottage I have stayed in! The owners were extremely helpful and pleasant. The cottage was very well equipped. There was a box of toys suitable for my grandson, a pool table, air hockey, darts set and playstation for us. The garden was self-contained so suitable for small children and dogs and there was use of a football pitch with a trampoline and slide. We arrived to the welcome of fresh baked bread and a home-baked cake. I feel these owners have high standards and want to make sure their guests have everything they can provide. I would definitely recommend it!

Mrs Walling

The cottage was excellent. The owners were very helpful. The whole family enjoyed there holiday and we would definitely consider returning again.

Mr Rowe

Excellent property; child friendly. Friendly owner, fresh bread and homemade cake on arrival. Ample room for 7 adults, 2 babies and a toddler.

Miss Nash

The extra's given by the owners, home made bread and cake, were a wonderful welcome as we entered the cottage. We all had a fantastic time and hope to visit again in the future. Could not fault it at all, everything was as expected from the advertisement.

Ms Houton

The cottage was fantastic, everything we needed was provided. The games room and farm was a hit with the children. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and the homemade cake and bread on arrival was much appreciated. We would highly recommend this property and hope to return.

Mrs Tench

The cottage was exactly as described. The fresh baked bread and cake was very welcome. The owners were friendly and attentive but not intrusive. It is a perfect location for the coast and countryside. The car pass for Dalby Forest was used twice and the scones at the visitor centre recommended! We were very lucky with the weather, hardly a cloud each day, however the log burner kept the evening chill out beautifully.

Mrs Webster

A good size to the cottage with plenty of space for children and adults. The games room was brilliant and the kitchen lovely with the added bonus of home-made cake and bread, yum!

Mr Graham

It was a great family break in a good location. It was easy to get to York and Whitby. There were plenty of beds and lots of seating for us all. Also it was the only self catering accommodation that we have stayed in that had adequate cutlery and crockery.

Mrs Corby

We had a very warm welcome. Bread cooking in the bread-maker and a lovely sponge cake, tea, coffee, sugar and milk were all there on our arrival. The owners told us to keep in touch if we needed anything and were very friendly. Overall a very good location and great size property.

Mrs Shulver

The facility of a well equipped games room. Quiet village. The children were able to visit and see the cattle at any time. Owners were most accommodating
including the provision of home-made bread and cake and generous welcome pack. All we required was provided.
Bed linen and towels excellent quality.

Mrs Guest

The football area was brilliant. Nothing too much trouble or the owners. Well positioned for days out.

Mr & Mrs Ackroyd

Nice area. Plenty to occupy children and adults.

Mr Bunkle

The cottage was excellent. It was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The freshly baked cake and bread were a nice touch too. Thank you very much, we hope to come again!

Mrs Rounce

Cottage was lovely. Arrived to freshly cooked bread, and a home made cake, it was lovely. Also provided was tea, coffee, milk and sugar! The village pub served lovely food and everyone was really welcoming and friendly.

Mrs Clarke

The welcome. Fresh bread and cake. The village participation. Our kids were taken on the village trick or treat walk. The location was fantastic.
Kids loved the farm location.

Mr Hunt

The cottage was really lovely & the owner made a lovely welcome pack for us that was very 'welcome'! The info book was very good & told us everything we needed to know, although the owner of the property was only next door & if we needed anything - but we didn't. I would & already have recommended this property to other people.

Mrs Allen

We had a great family Christmas in this lovely family-friendly cottage. Plenty of room for us all, the kids (big and small!) loved the games room, and the female members loved the big kitchen and large table! The extra finishing touches from the owner were very welcome and much appreciated - the home-made cake, loaf baking in the bread-maker, tea/coffee/milk and sugar, but especially the little gifts for the children under the Christmas tree. What a lovely thought. We all really enjoyed our week there - we hope to return and would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Mrs Withers

Close to walks, coast and dalby forest. In a fantastic location with no need to use the car if you don't want.

Mrs Holden

Lovely, spacious cottage with plenty to keep the kids occupied and an enclosed garden for dogs. Very clean and well equipped. Lovely area.

Miss Dickens

The cottage was spacious and enabled 2 families and their dogs to have a break. The local pub was very good as well.

Mr Molloy

We were made very welcome at the lovely large cottage with log burning stove. We would go again.

Mr Fallows

Delightful cottage well equipped. Everything there that we needed was in place.

Mrs Dawson

This is a cut above other self-catering cottages, and it's the little things that make the difference (attention to detail).

Ms Townsend

although I have only rated some things as good or average this does not mean we were at all disappointed. On the contrary, because we had four small children and six adults in our party we could relax perfectly and let the children enjoy themselves without worrying too much about damaging the property. It was perfect for our needs. Thanks again for recommending it to us on our initial enquiry

Mr Brackenbury

We had a great time - what a wonderful surprise to arrive and find Christmas decorations up, a loaf of bread in the breadmaker, a tin of chocs under the tree, and a cake on the table! We used our week well and thoroughly explored the forest, the beaches and the villages. The location was just brilliant.
We were a party of 7 adults and the 3 living areas suited us superbly. Huge kitchen for our Christmas turkey dinner! Thanks for the warm welcome, we appreciated everything you did.

Mrs Mawhinney

This property was perfect for our family group and the owners couldn't have made us more welcome. The property is quirky and the games room means there's always something to keep you occupied whatever the weather. The kitchen was very well equipped.

Mrs Missett

Very interesting and spacious accommodation, well equipped and good facilities.

Mr Lee

Warm, comfortable and relaxing. Just what we needed. Ideal location for reaching so many interesting places.

Mr Osborne

Suitable accommodation to suit all ages, thoughtful touches with games, books etc. Had an excellent play area and field for dog to run in. Overall, excellent holiday accommodation.

Mr Wagg

Made the booking for myself and eight friends for a girlie weekend. We had a fabulous time and the cottage is beautiful, well equipped and cosy. Lovely homely feeling and it was spotlessly clean. Many thanks and will definitely return again soon.

Miss Hallsworth

The cottage was brilliant, it was clean comfortable, warm and friendly. The owners couldn't do enough for us. Me and my family of ten people will definitely go back again. Thank you so much.

Mrs Burdett

A brilliant place to spend time with friends and their children near to Christmas. We would certainly recommend to others and our kids want to know when we're going back. So many nice places to visit nearby, the kids favourite part of weekend was the holiday house though. Thanks for great holiday!

Mrs Thompson

Great cottage in a fabulous location!

Mrs Snodgrass

The cottage was ideally situated for country/coast. The property was ideal for our party size and the kids loved being on the farm and were able to play in back field - would definitely use again.

Mrs Tisshaw

Boundcliffe Farm was perfect for us (two families meeting up) - loads of space for the kids. We all found the cottage very comfy and are hoping to return some time.

Mrs Sandercock

The enclosed garden was excellent for the dog and the children loved the play area with the trampoline and football pitch. It is a beautiful village with nice walks and within easy reach of a number of places.

Mrs Marsh

A great family holiday cottage with a great playing field for the kids. The accommodation was ideal for a family holiday with a really useful playroom for the children with TV, pool table, darts, videos and endless games. There were lovely walks in Dalby Forest for the dogs, from the cottage.

Miss Williams

Great place to stay, well organised and great facilities including the park for the kids. Brilliant, we would definitely stay again.

Mr Backhouse

We loved this quirky farmhouse with the big kitchen where we could all eat together. The children loved the games room and the football pitch and of course wi-fi. There were some lovely touches like home made bread and cake on arrival. The farm is well placed for visiting the coast and Dalby Forest. We would definitely visit again. Great for a family get-together.

A fantastic property with lovely extra little touches, and the owners couldn't be more helpful. Highly recommended.

Mrs Missett

Had an absolutely fantastic weekend at Boundcliffe Farm. The hosts were fantastic. Loved the home made cake and bread that was waiting for us on arrival. The cottage was in the perfect location for us and had everything that we could have possibly wanted. Would defiantly recommend staying here as a large group.

Miss Moran

We had a great time at the cottage, everything you need was there.

Mrs Lamb

The house was beautiful, the children enjoyed the quirky layout of the house and the two staircases made it perfect for hide and seek! It served our party of four generations (ages 1-92yrs) very well.

Mrs Wyatt

Large house ideal for larger group like us. Kitchen was great really the hub of the house. The kids loved having space to run about, the trampoline and pool table were a bonus.

Mrs Mulholland

We found Boundcliffe Farm ideal for our family holiday. Everything considered, location, amenities and access we do not believe we could have found anywhere better.
