This was a lovely, modern, well equipped and well located cottage, built for those with disabilities and mobility problems in mind. The hosts are lovely, friendly people, keen to do everything possible to help their visitors enjoy their stay. We will be visiting there again, and will not hesitate to recommend the accommodation to family and friends. Pets are also welcome.

We had a lovely stay, it was great for wheelchair users, wide doors, big bathroom, and a wet room.. It was lovely having a big table so we could all eat together and still room in the kitchen...having the big gardens so the children could run around and play. A great central location for sight seeing... Will defiantly return in the future Thank you

The photos on the website do not do this lovely cottage justice. The owners went out of their way to ensure that all needs were met. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anybody and hopefully we will be making a return visit at some point in the future.

A very spacious bungalow that was plenty big enough for two families. Owners were very nice and very helpful. With an Easter cake baked for our arrival we received a very warm welcome from the owners. Couple of nice pubs within walking distance. Great location for York but a lovely rural retreat too. Good facilities for people with a disability too.

This was the most worry free holiday we have had, the disabled facilities at this property were first class and the hospitality was superb. We shall definitely be going again.
Seeking a quiet break by BernardandJoan on May 12th 2013
Firstly it would be worthwhile phoning the management before arrival if any special needs are required to facilitate all having a quiet relaxing holiday. Secondly the accommodation is sited in a very good position just off the A19 before reaching the City of York. This means that access to nearby towns, the Yorkshire dales, the Yorkshire moors and the East coast beaches is within easy reach. The holiday was quiet and relaxing. The managers, Peggy and Rod, were willing to provide anything required to make the holiday pleasing. They are a cheerful couple and pop round for a cheerful chat. Peggy's chocolate cake goes down very well too. Spiflicating!

Pound Cottage is an excellent property, especially as ground floor accommodation only was needed. It is very cosy and warm with plenty of hot water, plenty of seating. Excellent facilities in the kitchen/diner. We would definitely recommend this to anyone.

The bungalow was just so easy for our son to navigate around, he has a disability. The owners were fabulous and very accommodating. It was so welcoming and the layout was superb, making it a very stress free place to stay and therefore an excellent holiday. Thank you to the owners who were great.

The warmth of the welcome from the owners was fantastic. They were really helpful and made us feel like we had known them for a long time.
Excellent accommodation and friendly owners. by A Holiday Lettings verified reviewer on October 14th 2011
The owners, Rod and Peggy, made us most welcome from the very start. Peggy had even left milk and a Chocolate cake in the fridge for us, and Rod came over to the cottage to explain everything, even though we arrived very late at night. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, spacious, and warm. The facilities were great with ample parking and the cottage had good WiFi connection too. The cottages are on a quiet road just off the main road to York, and very conveniently located for access to the University, which was our reason for being there. We will definitely be back.
