The Wye River also offers fisherman their own private stretch of river, from which they can cast a line for salmon, trout and grayling. The catch of the day can then be savoured, with a glass or two, on the ample patio or beside the cosy fire of this remote Welsh cottage.

The nearby Cambrian Mountains are famed for the Wye Valley Walk and the National Cycle Route. Walking or cycling through the autumnal tones and clear, crisp skies is a hiker’s delight, and the experience is enhanced by the opportunity to see otters, buzzards and peregrine falcons.

Guests can also explore the Red Kite Feeding Station in Rhayader and the reservoirs of the Elan Valley, and complete their adventure with a visit to Shropshire, Llanwrthwl or the Welsh coast.
