Property Details

Just two minutes walk from the harbour in Amlwch Port, this detached 18th century cottage is ideal for enjoying the beaches, golfing, fishing, walking and attractions on the Welsh Isle of Anglesey. The cottage has two bedrooms, one double and one twin (which can be joined together to make a second double bed if required). This room also has an additional folding bed. The rest of the accommodation includes a bathroom, fitted kitchen, dining room and sitting room with a gas fire. There is a small seating area outside, and the rest of Anglesey is on the doorstep.

A beautiful cottage in a lovely location. The owners of the cottage were very friendly and made the cottage very welcoming. Our dogs greatly enjoyed their walks on the coastal path each morning and evening.

Everything was clean, comfortable and very homely. All of the kitchen facilities were good. The excellent washing machine was a big help.

We had a great time. It was a quirky cottage in a good location for visiting the island.

Cosy cottage in a great location by boxofrecords on November 12th 2014

We had a four night stay here in early November, and could have happily stayed a lot longer. The proprietor had kindly got the fire going for our arrival, which was much appreciated as it was a blustery afternoon. It is nicely furnished, with dining table and a well equipped kitchen, and two nice size bedrooms - one double, one twin. It is also dog friendly, so our little dachshund was happy too! The cottage is situated on Amlwch port, and is really peaceful, with two pubs (with the Liverpool Arms being dog friendly), a shop and cafe within a two minute walk from the front door. Parking is easy - you can either park outside the cottage, but if there is no space, there is a free car park less than a minute's walk from the front door. With so much to do on Anglesey, there is a strong chance we will be back!

Excellent location, right on the harbour... Very good value for money.

The cottage was great, everything you could need was there. We were very pleased all round.

Well Appointed Cottage by KeithCWilliamson on April 19th 2014

Stayed for a week. Initially with family, then alone. The cottage is warm and cosy with all the modern conveniences. The only thing which stopped me giving a 5 for this cottage was that there is no wifi and I could not even get a 3G signal in Amlwch. The local amenities are excellent and within easy walking distance.

Lovely cottage right at the heart of the village with splendid walks for the dogs. The cottage even had Christmas decorations up when we arrived with complimentary fresh fruit and home made preserves - a lovely touch. Despite the gales we were out everyday. Would recommend a stay here

The location was excellent, close to walks and amenities. The locals were friendly and helpful. Lots of places nearby and easy to get to. Lovely sandy beaches within short driving distance.

Cosy haven from abominable weather by A FlipKey verified reviewer on May 30th 2013

Booked for a few days holiday in March. You take a chance on the weather which was absolutely awful. Cottage was very pleasant. Probably best for older visitors or small family. Plenty of interesting things to visit on anglesey. We didn't use public transport but it seems you can even get to most places by bus.

Excellent location for amenities and to get around the island.

A gem in North Wales! by LillaNY on December 5th 2012

What a lovely cottage with friendly and gracious hosts, beautiful views and warm and cozy atmosphere! We visited the Royal Oak for two weeks in September to attend the wedding of friends, and my husband and I had an absolutely wonderful stay. Mrs.Allingham was available to us for questions or concerns and we arrived to a basket of home grown produce and jams left by our hosts. Close to many attractions and nestled in a lovely spot on the coastal path we found it a perfect location to explore North Wales. I would definitely return to the Royal Oak without a doubt!

An absolutely lovely cottage to stay in and very gracious hosts. A great point to explore the isle of Anglesey from. We had a great time and wish we didn't have to go!

A friendly welcome to a superbe cottage by A FlipKey verified reviewer on September 7th 2012

The friendly owner called in to check we had settled in and found everything to our needs, explained the local amenitys, leaving us with some local made jam and home grown vegitables. The location was superb just at the beginning of the harbour with plenty of walks for our large Bouvier dog,and we could want for nothing in the cottage everything to keep a four year old, parents and grand parents happy. Nearby two friendly pubs, a chip shop and a cafe with anothe cafe at the far end of the harbour. alltogether an ideal location to explore anglesey

by Mr Howard on July 29th 2012

It catered for all three generations - a very comfortable cottage. The beds were excellent, and the property is in a very nice location close to the harbour. It is very hard to find cottages that allow dogs so it was very pleasant to meet an owner who welcomed Charlie our Bouvier. It was great to meet the friendly owner who called in the evening of our arrival to make sure everything was OK.

A convenient location to tour from.

by Mrs Whittall on March 21st 2011

The attention to detail in this cottage was very, very good. Welcome by the owners with a cup of tea, a bowl of fruit, and some homemade marmalade, which was very nice. The best cottage we have stayed in up to now. We have told all our friends about it and there is only a short walk to two pubs.
