Nestling along side Lyme Cottage on the borders of Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire The Little Bothy is a lovely hideaway for couples to enjoy walking holidays exploring all three counties. Tenbury Wells is a short flat walk away and the attractive, historic towns of Ludlow and Leominster just a short drive.
The Bothy's historic roots, tranquil garden, small orchard and surrounding fields combine to provide a place for peace and relaxation. Whilst remaining close to all the local amenities you are likely to require to make your holiday 'just what the doctor ordered'.
Little Bothy has one double bedroom with shower room off, an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area with garden door to its own patio for outside dining. Full use of Lyme Cottage gardens encouraged.
Well behaved dogs are welcome.
Kitchen; Fully equipped with ceramic hob and double oven cooker. Reclaimed slate worktops and Belfast sink. Condiments, a selection of dried herbs and oil are supplied along with tea, coffee, milk and sugar for your arrival. (Fresh herbs may be gathered as required from the garden). A goodie basket of local produce will also await you. Breakfast baskets are available on request at a small additional cost.
Dining and sitting area; A mix of old and new furnishings make this a warm and cosy place to eat and relax. There is an excellent sofa bed with linen available should it be required. A flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi and a lovely wood burner are all excellent reasons to 'stay in' some of the time. A glassed door leads directly into the gardens from this room.
Bedroom; The bedroom occupies the original Bothy built in 1867. It is cosy and warm, with a fitted wardrobe, and further storage under its double bed.
Shower Room; Off the bedroom, this is fully fitted with shower loo and washbasin.
The Little Bothy has central heating throughout controlled by a thermostat in the bedroom. Hot water is constant. A plentiful supply of wood for the log burner is available free of charge.
A breakfast basket (£4 per person) or supper platter (£9 per person) may be ordered.
Outside; The Little Bothy has its own small patio immediately outside the garden door as well as full access to Lyme Cottage gardens and small orchard. There are a number of excellent seating areas where the view can be enjoyed and rose buds may be gathered. In season, strawberries, herbs and salad greens may be picked and eaten at will.
In summer the garden is colourful haven of beautiful blooms and a bird lovers paradise with its many and varied feathered visitors.
Around and About; Tenbury Wells is a 15 minute flat walk from The Little Bothy. A sweet little market town where you can buy local produce, wander along the banks of the River Teme or enjoy a cuppa and cake in one of its lovely tea shops.
On the way to Tenbury you will pass the Rose and Crown, a dog friendly pub and restaurant where you can drink local ales and eat excellent food without worrying about having to drive anywhere.
In the other direction you can walk to Burford House Gardens and the ancient Burford St Mary's church, both well worth a visit.
Hop in the car and within minutes you could be in Ludlow visiting the castle, its shops or its excellent resturants. Or if you like a good rummage, Leominster must not be missed, its fabulous antique and vintage emporiums will take you at least a day to explore.
If you prefer the really quiet life there is an excellent fishery just minutes away and lots of lovely walks to enjoy too.

Perfectly compact cottage! by Sally O'Boyle on April 29th 2014
My husband & I stayed at The Little Bothy last October (2013) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cottage was really cosy with everything you could ever need: modern appliances, beautiful decor & super comfy-we could've easily stayed there, without leaving, all weekend, watching movies & relaxing in front of the fire!! As well as the ideal surroundings inside the cottage, the location was spot on; it was close by to nearby local shops & pubs in Tenbury wells & a very reasonable distance from the charismatic towns of Leominster & Ludlow-just perfect!
