Gorse Cottage is a delightful Exmoor holiday cottage nestled in the centre of the National Park. The waterside stone cottage by the River Exe boasts modern comforts and space for pets in its charming garden. The wonders of Exmoor and coast are within easy reach of this peaceful rural retreat.
Gorse Cottage boasts a traditional stone exterior and a beautiful location by the River Exe in the centre of Exmoor National Park. This cosy, pet-friendly cottage is near the delightful village of Exford and the beautiful North Devon–West Somerset coastline and welcomes couples and pets for a peaceful holiday.
The cottage sleeps 2 people upstairs in a double room adjacent to a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Downstairs is a cosy living/dining/kitchen room. The farm cottage also has a fully enclosed stone porch … a good place to keep outdoor clothing and boots out of the cottage, and to wipe the dog down! There is a shared, separate small garden area looking down to the river. Stabling is available if you want to bring a horse.
This cosy Exmoor holiday cottage is well equipped (AA 4 stars). All bed linen, bath towels, hand towels, tea towels, toilet rolls, smart TV, DVD player, free Wi-Fi, etc. are provided. The bed is made up for your arrival. The kitchen has an electric hob plus oven, a fridge freezer, a microwave, and pretty much everything you should need. There is full central heating from our eco-friendly bio-mass boiler.
Visitors can make use of the games room or explore the grounds of the farm, the river and surrounding woodland. They are also provided with a games room and laundry facilities to ensure a relaxing holiday. Private fishing and stabling are also available.
Gorse Cottage is ideally situated for those who love the outdoors. Its location provides access to endless walking and cycling trails and the chance to enjoy horse riding. Wildlife viewing is also popular, and the cottage is just a short drive from the spectacular coast. It is close to the West Somerset Railway and a steam train ride to quaint villages and historical sites. Discover some of Exmoor’s many tea rooms and delightful pubs. Visit Lynton & Lynmouth’s Valley of Rocks, Dunster Castle, Porlock, Weir, Watchet harbour, Tarr Steps and much more.
