Exmoor National Park surrounds Heather Cottage, providing visitors with tranquillity and a variety of outdoor activities. This waterside Exmoor holiday cottage at Riscombe Farm near Exford boasts modern comforts and traditional features with an open fire and a garden with a view of the River Exe.
Heather Cottage overlooks the River Exe in a quiet location near the picturesque village of Exford in the centre of beautiful Exmoor National Park. It is only short distance from the lovely North Devon-West Somerset coast.
This upside-down character cottage is pet-friendly and sleeps up to 6 people in 3 downstairs bedrooms. These comprise a double and 2 twins. Upstairs, under the exposed beams, is the spacious living/dining/kitchen room with a wood burning stove. Upstairs there is also a bathroom and a separate shower. There are steps up to the front door, and downstairs one door leads into the courtyard and one into the private, fenced garden looking down to the river. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided.
This Exmoor holiday cottage is well equipped (AA 4 stars). All bed linen, bath towels, hand towels, tea towels, toilet rolls, etc. are supplied. There is satellite smart TV, DVD player and free Wi-Fi. The beds are made up for your arrival. The kitchen is fully equipped and has pretty much everything you should need. There is a cot, plus a high chair and a stair gate. The cottage is fully central heated from our eco-friendly bio-mass boiler. Logs for the fire are free. Also enjoy the open space and tranquillity of our small farm and our animals.
Heather Cottage is well situated for visitors who love to explore the outdoors. Its location in the National Park provides endless hiking and cycling trails and the chance to enjoy horse riding. Wildlife viewing is also popular, and the cottage is just a short drive from the stunning coastline.
For those seeking a more sedate holiday, Heather Cottage is also close to the West Somerset Railway and a steam train ride to quaint villages and historical sites.
