Cambridge Cottage, Suffolk

Cambridge Cottage sleeps two. You arrive at the cottage, and there are wooden and iron railings enclosing a very cute front garden space with planters, roses, clematis and petunias. I have put a wooden bench in the front under the window, so you can sit out with a drink to absorb village life. You will see an old-fashioned red telephone box opposite. This has been turned into an information box about the locale with books you can borrow: Your library is on your doorstep!

The sitting room has a stable door, oak beams, quirky shelving, beautiful handmade Colefax & Fowler vintage floral chintz curtains, oak flooring, and red brick chimney breast with the cutest green enamel wood burner, comfy sofa and armchair along with a smart TV.

The kitchen has a stable door opening onto the courtyard, traditional red quarry tile flooring, an oak worktop, a Belfast sink, an electric hob and oven, a microwave, and a fridge.

The original oak wooden staircase has a handrail leading upstairs to the landing with a traditional handmade oak bannister. The bathroom and bedroom are off the landing. The bedroom contains a double bed, cupboard, chest of drawers and oak floors. The bathroom has a freestanding roll-top bath and hand-held shower with an exposed red chimney breast and a courtyard garden view. Cambridge Cottage is located in Coddenham, one of Suffolk’s prettiest villages. It has beautiful local walks and a quintessential village shop. I have just finished renovating and know that you will love the cosiness and character of this enchanting 16th-century Suffolk cottage - oak beams, a tiny French green wood burner! The sunny enclosed courtyard garden has English roses, a table & seating. It is ideal for walkers, cyclists, couples & solo travellers. Suffolk Heritage Coast and Snape Maltings are c. 19 miles away.

Cambridge Cottage is believed to have been used as accommodation for monks from the local monastery in the 16th century.

Free parking on the street nearby or at the Village Hall is an easy 3-minute walk.

Keep your cycle in the secure courtyard garden.
