Beautiful, peaceful cottage to unwind and relax. by Julie J on July 22nd 2017

We absolutely loved this gorgeous cottage. It is set in the most peaceful area away from roads and noise. The only sound you hear is nature - perfect for me after living in crazy London! Steve and Rosemary are lovely, very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much for them. The cottage is very well equiped, clean and bright - the beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept in! The people in the area are very friendly and the scenery is stunning. We loved this place so much that my mum has already booked for another week in October. I will definitely be returning and hope to go on some walks across the beautiful countryside. A perfect place to relax and enjoy South Wales. We could not fault it at all. Thank you Steve and Rosemary for the perfect holiday. Julie.

Exceptional accommodation, consummate hosts by Owen_thesaints on September 2nd 2016

My wife, daughter and I rented this property for a week, to be within easy driving range of the West Wales coast. The accommodation is a relatively recent barn conversion, situated a mile from the A475 along a single track lane. On walking into the property, we were most impressed with the quality of the accommodation. The two bedrooms are well proportioned with plenty of storage. The bathroom has a wet room shower which worked efficiently and there was always plenty of hot water at good pressure. The open plan living area has a settee to seat three people comfortably and an arm chair. In the kitchen / dining area there was a table and chairs for four. The kitchen has a four ring hob and oven. There is a compact fridge with an ice box, as well as a full sized-dishwasher. The washing machine and separate tumble dryer would facilitate guests staying for longer lets. All the appliances we used worked well. There was plenty of crockery, glassware and cutlery to use the dishwasher efficiently. The wi-fi was very effective although we had no mobile reception at the property. Externally there is a sitting area for guests, comprising a bistro set, parasol and bench. Thanks to the owners, Rosemary and Steve, who were so helpful and responsive. Rarely have we rented a property so well prepared for visitors. On our arrival the accommodation was spotless, and the owners have provided everything we could have possibly needed to ensure a carefree stay. The vast number of thoughtfully provided leaflets were a great boon as we planned our day trips to the coast. We found this to be an exceptional holiday let and would have no hesitation in recommending it wholeheartedly to future guests. You will be guaranteed the most comfortable of stays and the warmest of welcomes from the genial owners.

Yr Hen Beudy was exactly as we expected from the website. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and it was in very peaceful surroundings. The beds were all comfortable, which is quite unusual.

by Mrs Picken on July 10th 2016

This property is a gem of a find. It is located in a stunning location The owners were really helpful. We will be back!

by Mrs Powell on June 13th 2016

Yr Hen Beudy is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. The setting is so quiet and tranquil, beautifully situated with lovely countryside around. Very well equipped and a comfortable bed, in fact everything we could have wanted. The owners were so hospitable and kind. Altogether a wonderful experience.

by Swindley on June 5th 2016

Yr Hen Beudy has been thoughtfully converted to provide a light, comfortable, cosy yet practical accommodation which makes it perfect for a holiday let. To top that, it is set in beautiful countryside and is within easy reach of many seaside towns and places of interest.

by Mr Smith on August 25th 2015

The cottage is situated in a beautiful rural area. There was no traffic noise or street lights and is within easy reach of the main road for travelling easily around the area. The cottage itself was of a very high standard and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

by Mrs Fowler on July 12th 2015

For a restful holiday, this is the place to stay, in a very peaceful spot, yet it is well located for travelling to coastal or inland locations.

by Mrs Powell on June 28th 2015

The week we spent at Yr Hen Beudy was wonderful. The barn was situated in an idyllic, peaceful and restful location with lovely panoramic views. The owners were such welcoming hosts but not intrusive. We immediately felt at home in this immaculately presented, spacious cottage. Everything had been provided so thoughtfully down to the last detail. There was plenty of kitchen equipment, a new large screen TV, DVD's, radios, CD's and a lovely comfortable bed. We have never been to this part of Wales before but it is so tranquil & picturesque with a variety of inland & coastal towns & beautiful beaches only a few miles away. This was by far the best cottage we have been in and so we shall return.

by Mr Williams on June 12th 2015

It was very quiet and peaceful, just what we like. The bed was most comfortable and the owners were most friendly and obliging.

by Mrs Mafe on April 7th 2015

An amazing place to stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful. A well maintained cottage in a quiet area.

by Mr Love on March 22nd 2015

The whole concept was terrific. The owners were very welcoming and ready to help and advise. By far the best cottage we have stopped in and we will be returning. The cottage is located in the countryside but it is easy to get to different places of interest and shops.

simply a wonderful place by albert l on March 19th 2015

We have recently spent a great week in this luxuriously converted cottage. The standard both in and outside of the cottage is superb. It offers comfort and warmth either by central heating or log burner, both if it's really cold. Rosemary and Stephen, the owners, make you welcome and are there if you need help. Easy to get to by car and so many places to visit. Good parking in location. The wet room or shower is ideal and total accommodation great. We will be back again. Thanks for a first class holiday and rest

Immaculate cottage, wonderful countryside, peaceful setting by Leah W on March 2nd 2015

This was a return visit to "Yr Hen Beudy" and we will keep going back! The owner is very helpful and friendly. The cottage itself is comfortable and well equipped (from tupperware to tea-towels - as yet I have not found anything lacking, they even provide a starter set of things like loo roll and washing-up liquid). The wood-burner is a wonderful treat and really makes the place cosy and warm (the beautiful stone tiled floor is a little cold at first, but once the fire is going you can quite happily walk around in your socks!). I noticed they have changed the TV - it's a nice big (42" I reckon) one, which makes watching films so much nicer. We went for quite a few walks, both from the cottage itself and from places we drove to - Llangranog is probably our favourite (the little Cafe does lovely ice-creams). The only thing we didn't take advantage of this time was the BBQ area - it was a touch on the chilly side over the new year break! :-) All in all a wonderful little cottage which I thoroughly recommend!

Lovely relaxing getaway, picturesque and well equipped!! by Rae M on February 14th 2015

We rented this cottage for two weeks having had it personally recommended to us by family. The cottage itself is beautiful, light and airy, with high ceilings in the open plan living/ dining/kitchen area which gives a spacious relaxed feel. The floors throughout are slate tiles, except in the bathroom which has ceramic, non slip tiles, and there are no steps once inside the property. The floor has a gentle slope up the corridor from the living area towards the bedrooms. The living area, as already mentioned, is open plan to the dining room and kitchen area, although there is a low wall, about 1.4 meters high, around the kitchen section which screens the area off. There is a comfortable 3 seated sofa and armchair, and a large, 42" flat screen tv which the owners told me was a new addition, plus a well stocked bookcase with books and local information. Plenty of room to relax in the evenings with a glass of wine! There is a beautiful wood burner, which we found easy to use even though we are novices, and there was an ample supply of logs. We were able to get more logs from the owners for a very reasonable charge - as my husband discovered a bit of a flair as a pyromaniac! The dining area has a table with chairs for 4, and this leads into the kitchen area. The kitchen is large and has plenty of storage, and had everything we could possibly have needed. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy, and there were lovely touches including a tray with tea and coffee, and a jar of homemade jam from the owners! There is a washing machine, large fridge, dishwasher, freezer and microwave, all immaculate and in full working order. We slept In the double bedroom, which is spacious and has a large wardrobe and chest of drawers, in addition to the bedside tables - plenty of storage!! The other bedroom has twin single beds and similar storage, giving flexibility of the use of the two rooms. The bathroom is a wet room, well set out for ease of use for those with impaired mobility. The local area is beautiful, with beaches, countryside walks, sailing and plenty of nice pubs! New Quay is only 25 minutes drive away, and has two beaches, a boat tour, restaurants, ice creams and fish and chips aplenty! We had our shopping delivered by a well know supermarket (every little helps...) which made life even easier; although there is a little spar shop at pontsian which has all the basics to get you set up! The owners, Rosemary and Steve, were friendly and welcoming without being intrusive and were able to answer our questions about local pubs, sightseeing spots and facilities with ease. They lent us maps and books about the local area and ensured we had all we needed. We were able to park our car only a few metres away from the house, and were able to use a private patio area with seating and table. All in all, a great holiday, a true escape to the country, with all the comforts of home! Thank you both, Rosemary and Steve!,

Peaceful tranquil and scenic spot........ ideal!

beautiful tranquil setting by raymond t on August 9th 2014

The cottage had everything required for a restful holiday in beautiful Wales. The cottage was centrally located for sightseeing and day tripping. Our hosts were very friendly and accomodating. You do need your own transport. We would certainly return to Yr Hen Beudy when next we are in Wales.

by Mrs Stone on August 3rd 2014

The peace and quiet of the location away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas. The cottage was absolutely perfect for our requirements as a member of our party is disabled and has limited mobility. The owners were excellent hosts and available at any time if we needed anything.

by Mr Miller on October 8th 2013

Very relaxing peaceful cottage in a lovely part of Wales.

by Mr Kendall on September 16th 2013

A quiet, very pleasant location. The cottage was possibly the best we have stayed at. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Ideal location for touring Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

by Mrs Sherwen on September 12th 2013

Very quiet and restful place to stay.

by Mr Harwood on June 26th 2013

Property situated in a very peaceful part of countryside.

by Mr Meeser on May 30th 2013

This is probably one of the roomiest and most comfortable cottages we have stayed in over our 10+ years of cottage holidays. It's wonderfully quiet and peaceful and the owners extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. This area of Ceredigion is lovely, with much of interest within only a short distance.

Great place to stay to explore Cardiganshire, along both the coa by A FlipKey verified reviewer on September 6th 2012

A peaceful well equipped and very comfortable cottage in lovely surroundings. The owners were very welcoming on our arrival. A very enjoyable week despite the odd days of variable weather.

A home from home, so peaceful, very relaxing holiday and great h by A FlipKey verified reviewer on September 5th 2012

After a warm welcome from our hosts, we couldn't beleive how lovely this place is. Everything you could possibly want is provided. If you like peace and quiet, and being 'away from it all' this is the place for you. We loved it! The local pub/restuarant The Daffodil was great too. There are some fantastic walks on the doorstep and the coast is only a few miles away.

by Mr Hebenstreit on August 30th 2012

The hosts were very friendly and we had a very warm welcome and stay. The cottage's rooms are well equipped and furnished and all marvellously decorated with the artist's work.

by Mrs Sutton on July 29th 2012

We liked the peace and quiet and the remoteness of the property. The owners were friendly and helpful.

by Mr Hunter on July 25th 2012

A warm welcome from the owners on our arrival. The cottage was in a very peaceful location along a lane well off the main road. However, it is also conveniently located for exploring the Ceredigion countryside and towns such as Lampeter, Newcastle Emlyn and Canarth as well as the coast from Aberystwyth right down to the Pembrokeshire coast, with all the little villages and beaches in between. A very relaxing week which passed all too quickly.

You cannot give further away in the UK. by A FlipKey verified reviewer on August 18th 2011

More four star than five star but every thing was well done and comfortable.

A cottage away from it all by A FlipKey verified reviewer on August 18th 2011

It was a loverly cottage down a single track road we loved it, .

by Mr Parfett on June 28th 2011

The cottage owners made us so welcome when we arrived. The cottage was lovely, all mod cons and we cannot fault any of the amenities at all.

by Mrs Wainwright on June 6th 2011

The owners were very welcoming hosts and looked after us very well. The tour of their studio was very interesting. The cottage is an excellent base for the points of interest we visited in the area. The cottage was warm and cosy when the weather was wet, cold and windy, otherwise we were out every day until at least 1700. The Gwarcarfel Arms in Prengwyn provides good food which is of an excellent standard and good value.

by Mrs Alcock on August 23rd 2010

Excellent accommodation in very pleasant surroundings. Owners very friendly and helpful.

by Mrs Wainwright on July 29th 2010

The cottage is an excellent place to holiday in Wales with much to see near and far. The owner was so welcoming and helpful it was a joy to stay in the cottage. The wood burning stove was easy to use and kept us warm in the unseasonal cool evenings when it had been raining. We are planning another visit in 2011.

by Mr Patrick on June 21st 2010

Good accommodation, owners very friendly, good location for touring area.
