Find My Favourite Holiday Cottages in Fowey

Fowey is one of the prettiest fishing villages on the south coast of Cornwall. It is honeycombed with small cobbled streets and alleyways that once bustled with fisherman selling their catch of the day and the occasional smuggler. Stay in one of the many waterside fishermen's cottages that have been beautifully updated while retaining traditional features. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Fowey, pronounced 'Foy', is truly a holiday treat.

Fowey has a stunning natural harbour on offer for all boats. There’s always an opportunity to try your hand at sailing or to wield an oar at rowing. Among all this natural beauty, Fowey holiday cottages are delightful, waiting to be picked up for a traditional Cornish family self-catering holiday to begin.

Walking is a popular pastime in Fowey, with an extensive array of paths to choose from hikes up and around the cliffs displaying excellent views of the estuary or just a gentle stroll across the esplanade or across one of the very picturesque beaches and coves. Whitehouse Beach is the closest beach to the town centre, It has an extremely high tide and playful paddling pools, and it is a magnet for families and sun lovers. There is also a beach within the same perimeter with the same tidal movements but with a slipway down onto the beach, making it perfect for boating and sailing; less perfect for swimming due to the busy waters but delightful for learning to sail or just returning to a loved pastime.

Most of Fowey’s main attractions understandably base around the water and the cliffs surrounding it simply because of its exceptional beauty and charm. Most of Fowey’s main attractions understandably base around the water and the cliffs surrounding it simply because of its exceptional beauty and charm. Being close to the sea provides such an enormous range of activities to choose from that you’ll almost run out of time to try everything. The Helford River is perfect for canoeing with its flawlessly still surface, and there are a great assembly of cliffs from beginner to advanced level for climbing and abseiling.
