Property Details

There can be very few cottages if any to match Glenuaig Lodge’s style and quality in such a beautifully remote Highland location.

The cottage is an hour’s drive from Inverness, with the last 2-3 miles being accessible only by 4-wheel drive vehicles (local hire available) or on foot. Its thick grey stone walls are in perfect harmony with the surrounding Munros and once inside, the Lodge is warm, comfortably designed and well-furnished.

Glenuaig appears deceptively small when dwarfed by its back drop of Munros. This good-sized 4-bedroom property converted from a Victorian shooting lodge easily sleeps up to 8-10 guests.

The Lodge comprises a large kitchen with stove, three reception rooms, (one with a sofa bed to fit in an extra couple if required), one double and three twin bedroom, which share 2 bath/shower rooms. There’s also a boot room for drying boots and outdoor clothing.

Remote it may be, but there are still modern conveniences such as a dishwasher, microwave, TV, DVD and CD systems for guests to enjoy as well as log burning stoves; and of course, there are wonderful views in all directions.

The cottage is very self-contained, having its own renewable energy supply, propane gas for cooking and even a back up diesel generator if required. There is a cot available if required and 1-2 dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, although bear in mind the ‘garden’ is over 12,000 acres!

If you are looking to spend a holiday completely off the beaten track in stunning, and utterly peaceful surroundings and where red deer and the occasional soaring eagle are your neighbours, then Glenuaig is for you. On a summer’s day there’s no place quite like it. When the weather closes in a different kind of wild beauty prevails. Enjoy the feeling of being snug and cosy, protected by massive think walls and a very effective central heating system.
