This Scottish country cottage near Banff and the scenic Moray Firth was originally built as a folly to Duff House and has served as toll house for the Bridge of Alvah when it was the only crossing of the lower River Deveron before Banff bridge was built in 1779

Located just 2-miles from Banff on the Moray Firth coast, there’s plenty to do in the area beside enjoying prime fishing and the great outdoors.

Craig Cottage is ideal for anglers as it’s a stone throw from our breath-taking Salmon and trout beat Montcoffer. Guests booking the cottage and fishing have use of quad bikes to get around the fishings.

The property boasts a south-facing sheltered sun-trap with a spacious patio, barbeque and garden furniture. The garden overlooks woodland and countryside. You can see red squirrels, woodpeckers, pine Martin seasonal birds and wildlife in all its forms from the kitchen windows daily.

The borders come alive in May when the stunning Rhododendron start to bloom.

The living area has a wood-burning stove for cosy nights by the fire, Sky Sports package and Sonos sound system. The bedrooms comprise two twins and one double.

Craig Cottage by Christine Kirk on August 1st 2018

This review is for Craig Cottage next to the Lodge. ITs a 3 bedroom house next door to the larger lodge but still private. WE stayed here for a week at the end of june. My husband chose it for the private fishing on the river. THe cottage was lovely and plenty big enough for the 3 of us. The garden and patio were vast and lovely to sit out in and watch the pheasants and red squirrels that attended daily! We got use of a quad bike to get about the river for fishing which was brilliant as its quite a long stretch to walk. The ghillie Jim was very friendly and would pop in for coffee and a chat and was very knowledgeable about the fishing. The weather was outstanding for the whole week which just made our stay even better since we could sit outside till late at night! Perfect cottage for smaller parties, still plenty privacy and very peaceful. Lovely location and views and very calming being down at the river. Will definitely be going back next summer! Highly recommend.

hidden gem absolutely marvellous ,had a week there and not long enough red squirrel,woodpeckers,pheasants,deer, heron all seen from window (well just around corner for deer) super place all mod cons,would go there again tomorrow if I could, not a bad thing to say about it.
