Dunoon has a lively film & arts culture, with one of the most popular festivals in the town being the Dunoon Film Festival, which takes place every year in September. The 3-day festival showcases local and international filmmakers, including additional events and exhibitions. The event is hosted in the Dunoon Burgh Hall, the town’s culture and events hub, in a grand and visually striking building. The hall offers workshops, concerts and art exhibitions all year round.

Dunoon has one of Scotland’s last standing Victorian piers and was one of the most popular attractions on the Firth of Clyde. Most of the pier now remains closed due to safety concerns, but it contrasts nicely with the neighbouring hills in Gourock and the calm water in the Clyde behind it, making for a perfect photo opportunity!
A regular ferry service runs across the Firth of Clyde to the towns opposite Dunoon, Gourock & Greenock. Greenock is a historic industrial town with an extensive maritime history, reflected at the Custom House Museum.
