The Railway Carriage has been on its present site for over one hundred years. Situated in it's own private garden with ample parking, there is a patio and a wooded area that leads into a three acre Apple Orchard.
Wisbech St Mary has two public houses both serving food, a general store / post office and fish and chip shop. The main town of Wisbech has many fine buildings with its Georgian Crescent and North Brink, it is here that Peckover House ( National Trust ) is situated.
Wisbech is an ideal base for touring the area with many places of interest close by, Peckover House and gardens ( National Trust ) Octavia Hill museum, Elgoods brewery and gardens all of which are open to the public. Peterborough with its fine Cathedral and Nene Valley Steam Railway, King's Lynn, Ely one of the countries smallest cities with its magnificent Cathedral, Cambridge with its historical colleges, botanical gardens and punting on the river Cam, Stamford with its 17th and 18th century stone and older timber buildings along with 5 medieval churches.
Visit the North Norfolk Coast an area of outstanding beauty including Heacham 30miles, Hunstanton 31 miles, Well-Next-The-Sea 44 miles, Cromer 59 miles and Sheringham with its heritage steam railway the "poppy line" 56 miles.
Stately homes to visit include Oxburgh Hall 27 miles, Houghton Hall 30 miles, Holkham Hall 30 miles, Sandringham House with its fine country park 25 miles and Burghley House built for Sir William Cecil Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth 1st.
Wildlife reserves at Welney RSPB 16 miles and the Ouse Washes RSPB 19 miles in the heart of the Fens forms the largest area of washland in the country.
The accommodation comprises of a full fitted Kitchen / Diner with hob, oven, microwave, fridge / freezer and washing machine. Bathroom with bath and shower.
