Miller's House

Gorgeous gardens with a babbling stream surround the delightful Miller’s House in St Nectan’s Glen. The rural cottage is set amidst a designated National Landscape in North Cornwall and rewards guests with traditional character and an open fire.

Exposed beams are featured in the double bedroom with an en-suite, bath, and twin room. Delightful touches continue on the landing, which contains a sofa bed for one child. The ample bathroom includes a bath, electric shower over, basin and WC.

Exposed stonework, lattice windows and more timber beams create character in the sitting room, which offers authentic Cornish finishes and a wood-burner stove.

Cool winter nights are ideal for huddling around the fire and using the TV with FreeSat, Freeview, DVD, and CD/radio. The sitting room includes the dining area, which leads to a well-equipped kitchen.

During the summer, the shared, lawned garden with patio furniture is a blissful place to enjoy a meal or a glass of wine while the kids and the dog roam free. Guests at Miller’s House can also count on WiFi, off-road parking, central heating, amenities for young children, coin-operated laundry facilities and space for one pet at £15 per week.

A truly tranquil and beautiful woodland setting close to the sea

This is a comfortable and cosy house although the fittings are a little dated. However, if you are looking for a peaceful location with easy access to the superb coastal walks and scenery then this is an excellent choice.

Most relaxing place ever!

Met by the owner and soon made ourselves comfortable. Our dog was also welcome. Very quietly situated just outside Tintagel. No mobile phone reception in the valley though. Cottage would have been better if both rooms were en-suite (e.g. door knocked through from bedroom into bathroom rather than having to come out onto landing), also a bit inconvenient at times to have the wardrobe and drawers on the landing. Other than that a fantastic holiday and really not long enough. Loved visiting all the King arthur connected places. Ideal for visiting both north and south coasts of Cornwall. Would definately stay again. Grounds to cottage were superb and peaceful.

The location of Mill House was ideal. The whole setting was a superb escape from everyday life. The gardens were tranquil and had the added bonus of a stream running through. Much amusement for children to enjoy water safely & ample play/ rest areas in the garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mill House. It is an ideal holiday let for families, who enjoy the countryside. We have already recommended the house to family and friends.

Beautiful secluded setting but close enough to shops and beaches.

Mrs Horvath

We had never previously stayed in North Cornwall and we very much enjoyed the area as a whole and in particular, the towns of Tintagel and Boscastle were both lovely and had much to offer. We enjoyed the peace, the scenery, cliffside walks, small enclosed beaches, places to eat, shops and tranquility of the place. The people were delightful and so friendly and the landscapes were truly spectacular. Many of the pubs we ate in were child friendly and gave us an extremely warm welcome and excellent food. We plan to return to this part of Cornwall in March 2008 as it is a lovely location for an out of season family holiday with plenty to offer young children.

Mrs Baden

Mr Lizmore

Gorgeous cottage in a fantastic location. Peaceful, beautiful - a real gem. We walked nearly everywhere - up the valley, down the valley, along the coast path, to the beach, to Tintagel. Only took the car out when we ventured further afield - Boscastle, Pencarrow, Port Isaac, Trebarwith. Stunning scenery, fantastic weather - I have never been sunburnt in March in England before! We will definitely be back no matter what the weather.

Mr Brian

Fantastic location being accessible to many wonderful walks. The property was set in very tranquil surroundings. One of the best holidays we have had in Cornwall.

The cottage is in a beautiful setting. Although shaded from the sun it is in a very tranquil area. There is great access/walks to Boscastle and Tintagel. The house is very homely and although not fancy or modern this adds to the charm. It is very clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful.

Mr Moran

Liked the lovely setting and the proximity to picturesque towns and areas. Very tranquil and beautifully kept and presented surroundings. The owner was helpful and provided useful advice on beaches and places to visit. Excellent provision for the small children and the dog who accompanied us! They all loved the cosy and warm atmosphere of the cottage and settled in immediately.

Mrs Calvey

It was wonderful to stay in such a calming, lovely historic home. The views and gardens were inviting and the location was very convenient to explore the area. Our group of four adults had plenty of space for gathering or for privacy as well. Miller's House was my favourite stay through our exploration of the UK!

Mrs Penn

Miller's House was a lovely holiday home, very comfortable, a lovely feel about it and very warm in beautiful surroundings.

Mrs Rixon

I have just had an absolutely wonderful week's holiday at Miller's House and I absolutely loved every minute of it. The cottage is beautiful, really charming with its' beams in the ceiling, log fire and cosy furniture. It was equipped with everything -Everything was spotlessly clean.
There are good heaters and radiators in every room so the whole house is super cosy.
I brought my beloved cat with me and he was welcomed with open arms and he enjoyed the garden too! And the cosy rooms!
The gardens are beautiful, very extensive woodland gardens with trees, a huge lawn, a stream, and lovely walks.
I really needed a week's peace and tranquility and this cottage was just perfect for that. In fact I am going to go back again in a month or so!
Thankyou so much, I have had a fantastic holiday here, I love it, can't wait to go back again.

Ms Froggatt

A beautiful location

The cottage location is in a beautiful valley and as sheltered as possible from the prevailing weather conditions. It has access to a wonderful garden complete with fast flowing stream and the shrubs and flowers complement the natural surroundings.

The cottage itself is very pleasant to stay in - but do be prepared to use the splendid wood burning stove in winter. This is great fun and the owners provided the fuel from the trees in the garden and we didn't have to cut the logs up ourselves!

The dog particularly enjoyed himself with the surrounding walks and learnt how to go up and down the cliff paths and only fell in the stream once. Stout footwear is sensible as the going can be rough on some of the cliff paths. For those with mobility difficulties the National Trust have provided a level path on the cliff top to the south west of Tintagel castle which can be accessed via the road to the church. The views are wonderful here.

Tintagel and Boscastle are the nearest locations and are more than adequate for shopping and meals but do remember that Cornwall is very seasonal so a lot of surrounding attractions are only open from Easter to October.
