Stables Cottage, Barnard Castle

We had a warm welcome and were so pleased with our choice of accommodation. It was first rate, clean, spacious and comfortable. We could not fault it. We found plenty of places to visit in our weeks stay and certainly would recommend to friends.

Well kept cottage, deservced it's star rating very clean & modern. Just to far to walk to Barnard Castle with young children but still an excellent location.
Would definatly return

Really enjoyed our stay, it provided all the comforts of home. Extremely friendly hosts, loved the cake and the recipe! Good location for walking.

This cottage was really welcoming, nicely furnish and well equipped. The additoonal bonus of the extensive outdoor play area was a real hit with our 3 year old.

A very comfortable, well equipped, warm (underfloor heating) cottage. Everything we needed was there. Within easy reach of Barnard Castle where there was a large supermarket & lots of individual shops & a weekly market. Very close to Bowes Castle if weather is inclement. Within easy reach of beautiful countryside & attractive towns & villages. An excellent base, with friendly helpful owners.

It stood out in our trawl for a holiday cottage and it exceeded our expectations by a long way. Extremely comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed.

A beautiful cottage. Wonderful hosts and easy access to Durham, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lakes. Plenty of good walking ares. The Redwell Inn at Barnard castle was excellent for food.

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Great jumping off point for Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland Castle, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District.

Fantastic property, very modern, open plan feel with lots of natural light. The high ceilings also provided a real sense of space. The cottage was immaculate and extremely comfortable. With the owner having kindly baked a delicious cake along with providing milk tea and coffee for our arrival, we were made very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

First time we have done a cottage holiday and we were very pleased with where we went. The accommodation overall was first class. Everything we needed was already at the cottage and the extras such as CDs games books etc were very welcome!

This was a beautiful, well maintained cottage. The play area is fantastic with good equipment and safely enclosed from the busy road - this was loved by our little boy!

The cottage was in easy reach of towns and countryside. The owner provided a small welcome pack of milk etc and was very helpful and on hand if required.

The cottage was comfortable, welcoming and so clean. Very well furnished with lovely little touches. Our host was very helpful. Loved her special bread!

Very safe for our toddler - an enclosed patio area, no steps, counter-level oven, safety feature on hobs etc. Knowing he was safe to run around and enjoy himself made our holiday! Our son also enjoyed seeing the chickens and using the play equipment.

The accommodation exceeded our expectations and the welcome we received was very cordial. The accommodation was central to the places we had planned to visit and there were other suggestions available in the cottage if we had run out of ideas.

The property was all on one level and not allowing pets and smoking was ideal for anyone with access difficulties and allergies.

Comfortable cottage with lots of up to date kitchen equipment. We liked the under floor heating. Also the lovely lemon cake that the owner left for us!

Stables Cottage was lovely, just what we needed for a last minute week away. The owner couldn't have been more accommodating and it was perfect for our little 15mth old to potter around in.

There was snow on the hills but the cottage was beautifully warm. It was very comfortable and well appointed. Will definitely stay there again with family.
