This was our second stay in a year in beautiful Cark. Surrounded by stunning countryside, lovely walks, a train station and peace and quiet we feel that this is a perfect base for us. Riverside View is a really nice, clean, comfortable and large house with a to die for bathroom. We loved its location especially being able to feed the ducks from the hall window and ease of parking. We particularly liked the enclosed garden with bolted gate which made it safe for our dogs to be outside without us having to keep an eye on them. We will definitely be returning to this fantastic property for our next holiday.

Mr Murphy

Fantastic cottage, we will definitely book again.

Mrs Borrows

The holiday house met all our requirements and more. Very comfortable and well equipped. Great bathroom. Lovely view from the kitchen and back bedroom over river and fields to fells, and well located near the station, village shop and pub.

Absolutely perfect for a friends weekend break, superb.

We are a group of friends who have been going away together for a number of years and its the first time we have booked a cottage in the Lake District. We planned an early christmas break and it was everything and more that anyone could have wanted. The cottage was fantastic, bedrooms were well furnished and really cosy, bathroom was amazing and the views from the back of the cottage just breathtaking. The owners have thought of everything you will need for self catering, you don't need to take anything. We had a wonderful time and will certainly be going back again next year. Ideal for families, friends and couples. We all liked how homely the cottage felt and we settled in right away, really relaxing and just what we needed.

Riverside View is located in a lovely little village named Cark. It is a beautiful spacious property and has been kitted out with everything you could possibly want or need on a self catering holiday. We found the villagers very friendly and helpful especially in the shop and the local pub, I would definately recommend this lovely area of Cumbria, Cartmel in particular and it's beautiful Priory and Quaint pubs and Shops are a treat. We will be booking again in 2013 can't wait.

What a fabulous house and views!

This was one of the nicest holiday homes we have ever stayed in. Beautifully furnished and really spacious. The views across the countryside from the rear of the house are truly beautiful. I saw deer on several mornings. The river runs right under the windows and it was a joy to feed the ducks from the window. It is in a really good location for getting around the South Lakes. Perfect.

great location

house was well equipped and very clean. some of the bedroom furniture needs updating. limited outside space was a bit disappointing. location was fantastic, great for all south lakes attractions. easy walking distance to local pubs/restaurants and shops. also garden centre close by with coffee lounge.

Fabulous property in a great location

This cottage was much bigger than we expected and very well furnished. The bedrooms were large and there was more than ample room downstairs.
Great location for touring the South Lakes region and less than 30 minutes drive to Bowness on Windermere.
The local pub has a really good atmosphere with friendly staff and serves a number of real ales and good food.
All in all a fantastic option with or without a pet.

Cosy Cark Cottage

Cottage is spotless and spacious. The bedrooms and bathroom are much bigger than they look on the photographs and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped with anything you might need and the utility room is large.
The owners kindly left a box of biscuits and a bottle of wine for us and readily came out to help us sort the central heating at 10pm on our first night.
The train station is 100 metres from the cottage so great for trips to Ulverston or Grange.

Fantastic Cottage, made an excellent base for our holiday.

It is called a cottage but is more a house - with three double bedrooms, spacious bathroom, two lounges, utility room and large fully equipped kitchen. When I say "fully equipped" I mean it. All you need to bring is your food. The house was spotless and so comfortable. I dare not sit down on the sofa in the morning because I knew that if I did, I would not have wanted to get up again. The village has a shop within a minutes walking distance, a bakery and two pubs, The next village, Flookburgh, has a couple of shops, pubs, sandwich shop and fish and chip shop. I loved the walks in the area, and more importantly so did my dogs. A fantastic house, highly recommended.

Spacious cottage ideal for families and dogs

Our party of 4 adults 1 child and dogs found this cottage ideal as a relaxed base for enjoying the lakes. The rooms easily accommodated our various needs. tv's in downstairs rooms and each bedroom and wi-fi connection helped when we wanted our own space. Kitchen is well equipped and utility room was useful for our dogs. The bedrooms are spacious with marvellous built in wardrobes which i would have liked to have at home. A stream runs immediately along the back of the cottage and we appreciated the scene of cattle grazing in green fields on the other side of water although one of our dogs was wary of the sight of cows. One negative is that Cark like many villages in the area has narrow pavements and it was difficult to negotiate around the village with child and dogs.

abrindles

Lovely location, the house was just as described in the brochure. The kitchen had a large utility room off, which was perfect with our 2 dogs.

Mrs Morrison

What a lovely spacious cottage. It was extremely clean and well decorated. Had a great week.

The attention to detail made the week we had very special. The owners left lots of information about nearby attractions and walks etc. Plenty to do on a rainy day - great choice of maps, books and DVD's left in the cottage.

Mrs Legge

A very comfortable, well appointed house, well situated (we could take our dogs for pleasant walks close by) and with a delightful view at the back. It was close, too, to some very beautiful parts of the Lake District.

Mr Druce

The cottage was beautiful, I just hope its available next time we book!

Mrs Kelly

The Riverside View was fantastic and the property itself was amazing. All the facilities are in the property, felt like our own home. I've had a great time in the Lake District.

Mr Shumel

Excellent location and the local amenities are within walking distance. A nice touch to have a bottle of wine and biscuits waiting for us on arrival.

Mr Dawson

The cottage was in a great location. We loved our time here, it was clean and spacious. It was so picturesque. Top marks.

Miss Gillon

Fabulous property, lovely touch supplying a bottle of wine and biscuits on arrival! Great information in leaflets and a book of suggested activities in the area very useful. Also lots of cleaning stuff available and games and access to games and 2 tvs to keep kids and us happy on an evening! Lovely area with local shop very good and the chippy at Flookburgh and pubs with friendly locals giving us lots of info and advice. It is a great base from which to tour and visit the South Lakes, Barrow and the zoo at Dalton in Furness.

Mrs Gill

Lovely location for exploring the Lake District, excellent views from cottage across the fells. Very relaxing.

Mrs Westwood

The location, a beautiful village. The cottage very welcoming and clean. The local shop was excellent and stocked all manner of useful things. There were lots of interesting places to visit for ages 1 to 90 yrs - we had three generations. All in all a fantastic holiday we will certainly come again. Thank you.

Mr Bruce

The cottage was absolutely right for us as it had 2 lounges, a utility room and the bedrooms were all a good size. The views were fantastic and we could feed the ducks directly out of the window - super!!!

Mr Walker

Everything was fantastic about the property. Thanks very much.

Mr Marshall

A very comfortable property that suited us perfectly, and we liked the views very much.

Ms Mills

A beautiful cottage which is perfectly situated for exploring the Lakes with lots of local walks. There is good pub food and a well stocked shop minutes away. The wine and biscuits on arrival were a lovely touch. Amazing views from back of house. We can thoroughly recommend Riverside view, just perfect.

Mrs Gooding

The house felt like a family home not just a holiday let and had every conceivable luxury. The owner was accessible, friendly and helpful but was not intrusive.

Mrs Thornley

Riverside View is very roomy and it felt like a family home not just a holiday let. Good location with shops, pub, walks and the train station all close by. A picturesque setting with lovely views from the back windows and a stream running directly behind the house with ducks and even the occasional kingfisher.

Mrs Thornley

It really was fantastic and just what we wanted. We did take some things with us but didn't need anything, everything has been thought about. Thanks it was fantastic. Have already recommended it to family and friends.

Ms Shackleton

The cottage was much larger than we expected and it had plenty of space for the 7 of us. Bathroom was also very spacious and the kitchen was well laid out and stocked with everything we needed. Great location too and the pub down the road served very good food. Would love to come back.

Ms Nixon

This was our first visit to the Lake District and we loved it and we had great walks with the dogs. The cottage was far beyond our dreams, we didn't want to leave. Will visit again and stay longer.

Mrs Francis

We enjoyed the cottage and the area, and will definitely return.

Mr Bow

Brilliant property.

Mr Buckland

The view from the cottage was lovely, a good central point for touring.

Cutsforth

We liked everything. The cottage was a home from home, and 'what to do' brochures covered everything. A much needed break. Thanks to the owner - it was a credit to you. Fantastic views from the kitchen and bedroom windows.

Miss Moore

What a lovely house, great location and we would definitely recommend.

Mrs Jardine

Excellent location. Easy to get to many attractions. Well equipped, very comfortable and spacious cottage and the dog could come too!

Mr Dodsworth

The property, the location, the local pub. Very handy to get to other villages.

Mrs Geelan

We loved the house and views from the window were superb. The village was very pretty but practical and friendly. The owners had put in some nice personal touches.

Mrs Dodd

Excellent standard of spacious accommodation, with outstanding views and the rippling sound of the river. Convenient situation of the property for visiting the many attractions in the lake district and surrounding area.

Mr Smith

Everything, the cottage, the beautiful Lakeland scenery and the good eating establishments.

Mrs Mackenzie

That the cottage was pet friendly. Nice walks in the area both for my granddaughter and the dog. Shop close by and also the The Engine Inn which was child and pet friendly.

Mrs Whittaker

Beautiful, well equipped house in a great location.
