5 The Granary. Kendal

Nestled in the South Lakeland District on the outskirts of the “auld grey town” of Kendal, Cumbria, sits 5 The Granary, a wonderful end-terrace cottage suitable for up to seven guests looking to enjoy everything this picturesque region offers.

This child-friendly cottage was formerly the grain store for the original neighbouring farm but has now been converted into a gorgeous holiday home that combines comfort and style for a splendid Lake District stay.

A three-storey countryside cottage within walking distance of the county’s third-largest town, 5 The Granary boasts a well-equipped kitchen that adjoins the sitting room with a dining area. Walk through the French doors onto a furnished patio perfect for al fresco meals or an evening glass of wine overlooking the enclosed garden surrounding the cottage with traditional dry stone walls.

Two king-size double bedrooms and a family bathroom sit on the first floor, while the second floor contains a family room with king-size double and single and a second family bathroom, allowing guests to spread out and find their own space. An external utility room includes a washer and dryer.

The town of Kendal boasts two castles, two museums, and several fine restaurants for a night out. The town is ideally situated for visits to Lake Windermere, just a 20-minute drive to the west, or Arnside Beach along the Kent estuary, offering gorgeous views of Morecambe Bay. Hikes through the Lake District and the Kentmere Valley also beckon guests to 5 The Granary.
