Bobbin Mill Cottage in Cumbria

Located in the tranquil hamlet of Lakeside, this superb end-terrace slate cottage sits in a large garden plot which backs onto woodland and countryside, close to the tip of Lake Windermere and Newby Bridge in the Lake District.

Beautifully presented throughout, with immaculate attention to detail, this cottage is ideally suited to friends and family wishing to enjoy time together in one of the most stunning areas of the Lake District.

Set over two floors, the main house has three bedrooms and bathrooms and a spacious open-plan sitting room which has a woodburner housed in front of a slate wall.

There is a stunning quality kitchen with AGA, butcher’s sink, granite surfaces, marble floor and let’s not forget the wine chiller to keep your favourite tipple chilled to enjoy inside or out.

Also enjoy the delightful feature of the open wall contemporary window from the kitchen to the sitting room, allowing a view of the conservatory sitting area with French doors to the garden and beyond.

Open the French doors onto the wrap-around patio and enjoy the silence broken only by birdsong or step down into the garden and sit and listen to the relaxing sound of the babbling stream.

Across the garden is the studio perfect for extended family, friends or perhaps teenagers.

This accommodation provides an open plan kitchen and a sitting room with a TV, shower room and bedroom with views over the garden.

Just 10 minutes walk away from this lovely property is the tip of Lake Windermere with the Lakeside Hotel with spa and restaurant, and where you can embark onto Lakeland cruises to Ambleside and Bowness.

Alternatively, take a trip on the Haverthwaite steam train and step back in time or visit the Lakeland Aquarium.

Just 15 minutes away is Cartmel which houses race meetings during the summer months and is the smallest racecourse in the UK.

Cartmel is also the home to sticky toffee pudding and the ancient 12th-century priory and is also a gastro centre with the infamous L’Enclume restaurant.

Cyclists are also spoilt as close by is the Grizedale Forest with numerous bike tracks to suit all standards, as well as Go Ape.

Walking is also on your doorstep through woods to bore trees and High Dam call at Bobbin Mill, which is a fascinating mill and discover why your cottage has its name.

Finally, at the end of the day, return to this glorious retreat to enjoy the peace of the garden or inside in front of the woodburner.

This is a special cottage in a delightful location, ideal for exploration and enjoyment all year round.
