Lovely comfortable home from home

The cottage was great for a family holiday - the cottage was compact but had everything you needed and was very conmfortable. It was in a nice quiet location with a superb pub across the road with great take away food. There was plenty to do around the area - our children loved Chester Zoo and the Welsh Mountain Zoo. It was all great apart from the weather. Can't fault the service from Sykes cottages - very good value for money Thank you

Quiet, comfortable and homey

This cottage is ideally located, as long as you have a vehicle to get around. The countryside is beautiful and the townspeople are friendly. The cottage itself is beautiful - the owner has thought of all the small details and it is truly home away from home. The conservatory is wonder ful place to enjoy a meal, watching birds on the back lawn, or read a book. Stairway is quite steep but perfectly manageable.

lovely cottage peaceful location

This was a well equipped cottage full of character we really appreciated the spacious conservatory for meals and playing games etc. I loved the remoteness of the property and the local people were very friendly. The garden was large enough for my children to play in which was important to us.
Pretatyn has a very friendly church called Calvary and the people were welcoming and very friendly this made our stay even more special

Peaceful and welcoming home in a beautiful location

The owner was so helpful and welcoming when we first arrived. The house was clean and well kept. We had everything we needed for our stay. The conservatory at the rear was a real bonus space. The kids loved the cottage and didn't want to go home at the end of the week. There is however a steep staircase that may not be ideal for people with mobility problems or families with very young children; but our 4 year old coped very well.

The location was ideal. There is a quiet pub opposite that serves fantastic down to earth food at a great price. You can leave the front door of the cottage and do a wonderful circular route across the fields that gives you an amazing view of Prestatyn and the coast.

It is also well placed to explore everything that this part of Wales has to offer. I didn't realise that there was so much to do! We would love to go back.

Beautiful Wales

Spent week staying in cottage and visiting family over Christmas. A lovely, clean, quiet cottage in a beautiful and ancient North Walian village. Fantastic walks and views on your doorstep. Great pub grub 50m away. Well appointed cottage with modern tasteful decor. Marks and Spencer food hall 15 minutes drive.

It is a traditionally built 18th Century limestone cottage and despite very thick walls, double glazing and modern radiators it was at times a little slow to warm up. So bring slippers and dressing gowns in winter.

We especially enjoyed sitting in the conservatory overlooking the pretty back garden. There are some great walks in the countryside around the cottage and its easy to get to places of interest. The village pub is just across the road, with a very nice garden too. Highly recommend this place.
