Pippinwell Cottage is one of three Peak District holiday cottages recently created from farmyard barns at Farditch Farm. Pippenwell stands in secluded rural surroundings on the fringe of the picturesque village of Chelmorton in the heart of superb walking and cycling country. Expect high standards of comfort in this beautifully appointed 3-bedroom pet-friendly holiday home in Derbyshire, sleeping up to 6 guests.
Set in idyllic rural surroundings at the end of a sweeping driveway, Pippinwell has been designed with an open-plan living space containing a kitchen/diner and lounge area. The kitchen is nicely equipped to cater to all culinary needs, from big breakfasts to bigger family dinners. Facilities include an electric oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, toaster, microwave and washing machine. Throughout the barn, the contemporary design blends nicely with the character features of the original barn.
The three bedrooms comprise:
• One double bedroom with en suite bathroom
• A second double bedroom
• One twin bedroom
The master bedroom with the en suite bathroom is on the ground floor, which will appeal to those who need to avoid using stairs.
The latter two bedrooms share a family bathroom.
Outside is ample car parking for guests and a private patio for relaxation. To the front is a large communal courtyard with more outdoor dining furniture, BBQs (a nice place to relax, wine glass in hand, as the sun sets), and a large grass field with plenty of space to let pets run free or for ball games.
From Farditch Farm, it is a short walk to Chelmorton’s excellent village pub. The Church Inn (CAMRA pub of the year in 2016) has an excellent menu and a lovely ambience, with flag-stoned floors and an open log fire. A little further afield lies an attractive choice of farm shops, cafés and restaurants to occasionally tempt you away from your farmhouse kitchen at Pippenwell.
Farditch Farm is nicely located to access many of the Peak District’s jewels, including the magnificent Chatsworth House and the Victorian spa towns of Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock Bath.
