Located within the glorious North Devon countryside in the pretty village of West Down just outside Ilfracombe, Lower Aylescott Farm is home to six well-equipped family friendly holiday cottages.

The pretty two-bedroom Smithy Cottage is the ideal family retreat with on-site communal facilities, including two well-stocked fishing lakes and a children's play area.

This North Devon holiday cottage, which has been recently refurbished and renovated to a good standard throughout. A cosy living room with stylish duck egg blue sofas, a flat screen TV with Freeview and a DVD player. There is also a fold-out table located within the lounge and seats up to four guests.

Off the lounge there is a modern kitchen fitted with everything you will need to enjoy a self-catering holiday, including a fridge with a freezer compartment, a dishwasher, a washing machine and an electric oven with hob.

Upstairs at the cottage, there are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, both of which have built-in wardrobes. These share the family bathroom, which has been recently renovated and features a bath with shower over head, a WC and a wash basin.

Outside the cottage is a communal courtyard area where each property has its own table with chairs and parasol. There are over 4 and a half acres of communal grounds that guests are welcome at Lower Aylescott. A large field is home to a new children’s play area with rope bridge, a tube slide and climbing wall. This area is secured by fencing and there is gated access to the lakes.

Guests can use the two private fishing lakes at Lower Aylescott. These are only fished by guests, and are well-stocked with carp, bream, rudd and tench., even a Ghost Carp was recently spotted (June 2019). The carp are typically 3-5lbs, long lean healthy fish as they aren’t overfed. Please remember to bring your license, rod and bait.

Lower Aylescott is ideally located for exploring North Devon and beyond. The coastline with its glorious beaches, including Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton are less than 10-minutes away, whilst Exmoor National Park is within a 30-minute drive.

There are numerous attractions close by for all the family to enjoy such as The Big Sheep, Exmoor Zoo and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. Take a day trip to Lundy Island from Ilfracombe, or simply explore the superb beaches in North Devon – enough for a different beach every day for a fortnight.
