Barn Cottage at Mornacott

3-Bedroom Exmoor Farm Cottage With A Pool. Sleeps 6.

Barn Cottage at Mornacott is a stunning converted barn with characterful oak beams throughout, a vaulted first-floor ceiling, and

top-quality contemporary soft furnishings and quality solid oak furniture.

Barn Cottage was initially built as a store and press for cider apples before its painstaking conversion in 2011. The barn was rebuilt using traditional cob and stone and nestled under a slate roof. It sits above the farmstead and benefits from glorious country views.

The accommodation on the ground floor comprises a large open-plan kitchen and dining area, a twin/double bedroom (zip-and-link type beds), an ensuite shower room, and a separate "snug".

A widescreen television with a separate DVD player complements the snug, which also benefits from a woodburning stove.

The first floor, accessed by an open tread oak staircase, comprises two bedrooms and a large family bathroom (with a powerful shower over the bath).

One of the upstairs bedrooms has a double bed, while the other has the flexibility of zip-and-link beds.

The kitchen has a large electric range cooker, separate fridge and freezer, dishwasher and microwave. There is an on-site laundry and drying room.

Outside is a garden with a large terrace, seating area, and barbeque.

Please note:

* The beds in the downstairs bedroom are standard 2'6" beds, giving a 5' double, but are best suited for children when made up as singles).

* With farm animals around the place (and as much as we love them), we regret we cannot accept pets.

* Smoking is not permitted in Barn Cottage.

* Arrival time: 4.00 pm onwards

* Departure: By 10.00 am

Fabulous cottage, lovely location, great people!

When we were looking to book everything in the South West seemed to be already taken but up popped Barn Cottage (we subsequently found out that that this was because of a last minute cancellation). The pictures on the website didn't really do the cottage justice - it was really wonderful as were all of the facilities (pool, sauna, etc.) and it was very easy to get to. The owners and their team couldn't have been more helpful and we loved the area which had everything that we needed for our teenage children. We hope to be back soon.

Lovely Cottage!

Lovely cottage, very clean and well equipped. Hosts always available. Excellent pool, sauna and games room. Would definitely recommend- in fact already have!

Highly recommended

This was our first time staying at Mornacott and we would definitely come for another stay. As we arrived in the picturesque location we experienced a warm and heart warming greeting which include a cake, milk and eggs! We were immediately impressed and it all got better from there.

The cottage was a fantastic building with more than enough room for the family. We visited the lovely pool facilities for a cooldown after a long journey from Surrey, the heated swimming pool supplemented by the games room went down fantastically well with the children. During our week stay which seemed to fly by, we utilised the walks through the countryside which were helpfully set up, so even we couldn’t get lost. The surrounding area was also lovely to visit during the week. As our brilliant stay came unfortunately to an end we were presented with a book detailing the history of Mornacott, it was great to see how this lovely place has developed.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mornacott to anyone looking for a holiday.

Wonderful!

Perfect accommodation to share time with friends and family. Open living space with great log burner brings all together with spectacular views over the valley. Very relaxing and the separate pool complex is first class as well. We were made very welcome throughout and lovely to be on a working farm. Excellent all round.

Great stay!

We stayed with friends who had booked another cottage. Everyone had a great time in this beautiful part of the country. The Cottage was really well equipped and comfortable and sitting in the snug with the log burner going after a long walk was a real treat. Highly recommended.

Bright and airy but full of character

A really lovely cottage. we were welcomed with a fresh home baked cake and enough basics for a cup of tea whilst we waited for the online shopping to arrive. The estate feels really out in the country but is no more than five minutes from the main road with access to the beaches and other attractions. Everything is beautifully presented and all the staff clearly take pride in what they do. We had a problem with the cooker on the third night of our stay and we were offered the use of another in an entertaining barn which we didn't actually take up and the electrician arrived first thing and sorted the problem. Full marks!
We will definitely be back. Thanks Mornacott!
