Also nearby are many popular towns, steeped in history and local culture, including Sherborne, hilltop Shaftesbury, or Dorchester, famed in the works of Thomas Hardy. As well the option of exploring the stretches of the Jurassic Coast, there is much beauty to discover in Dorset's rural interior.

Owners very friendly and amenable. Garden made secure for the dog, much appreciated.
A lovely location and ideal for our purpose. We had a great Christmas there and would love to go again if we get the opportunity. The owners are really friendly.
Location for coast and quiet area, with access to country walks.
The owners were very friendly and made us very welcome. The cottage was located in rural surroundings but central for places to visit. An ideal place to stay for a relaxing holiday any time of the year. Will certainly holiday there again.
The cottage was quiet and tranquil, ideal for anyone wanting to chill out.
Every aspect of the holiday in lovely Dorset was great, as was the cottage and the warm greeting from the owners.
It was a very quiet area. Within very easy distance to all Dorset attractions. Ideal for families.
Owners very friendly without being overbearing or interfering.
The setting is truly beautiful and house is very comfortable.
Lovely cottage. Lovely area within an hour drive to Yeovil, Dorchester and Shaftesbury. Beautiful country and ideal for people wanting a tranquil holiday in pretty surroundings.
This was our second Christmas visit to Belview. We were very pleased to find it even more comfortable subsequent to the many and continuing improvements made by the new owners. Lovely location and friendly people - would thoroughly recommend.
We were in this cottage two years ago, we were happy then, but now it is like a new build. It is worth more than three ticks.
An absolutely wonderful cottage.
The Cottage was excellent.Very comfortbale. Lovely places to eat with good food.
Fantastic cottage, very friendly and helpful owners, great base for exploring.
This cottage is exceptional! Everything was to the highest standard possible. I cannot praise this accommodation highly enough.

A gorgeous cottage, and exceptionally clean. We had a warm welcome and the cottage was well equipped. There was plenty to do in the area.
The property was excellent and the surrounding area was beautiful. There was plenty to do and see. I would not hesitate going there again.
The property was fantastic, a very high standard. We loved the property and the area.
Our third visit to Belview, and it just gets better. Friendly owners, great location and a modern, very well equipped cottage - the best of all worlds. Thoroughly recommended.
Ideal location and pleasant owners.
The cottage was fantastic with everything you need for a quiet break away. Close to some great walks and near to the town of Sturminster Newton for all of your amenities.
Very nice cottage, well equipped, couldn't ask for more. Easy access to the town with good pubs for food. Nice friendly people.
Superb accommodation. Well kitted-out and ideal for a young family like ours.
The cottage was excellent with everything we needed, there was even a folder with local attractions of interest.
The cottage was a very high standard and maintained so, it was very clean and I would recommend it to all my friends.
Very well equipped including wi-fi. 2 dogs were welcome. Lots of info on what to do. Good location for a quiet holiday but not far to major holiday spots.
Perfect! Absolutely first class in every way.
Good location for exploring Dorset in all directions - coast and inland. Comfortable cottage, well equipped and beautifully clean.
Outstanding cottage with very high standard of cleanliness and comfort. Can't fault it - highly recommended!
You could not be more at home in this 'home from home'.
Very peaceful but not far to go to reach the coast or places of interest. It was good to return at the end of the day to a nice environment.
Amazing cottage that was a 'home from home'. The owners provided lots of added extras for our 3 month old baby. Excellent! What else can I say?
This cottage should be 5*.
This cottage was absolutely immaculate, spotlessly clean with every imaginable item you would need. It was peaceful and rural but only about 30 miles from Corfe Castle, Durdle Door, coast etc. Lovely, lovely place - can't rate it highly enough. The 'Crown Inn' at Ibberton serves delicious food. Cant wait to return - next year hopefully!
Peace and tranquility!
Best cottage we have ever stayed in; should be 5*.
The lovely warm welcome from our hosts at Belview Cottage. We visited many beautiful villages and churches set in rural Dorset and the cottage was situated in the perfect position to enable us to do this.
The cottage had a well equipped kitchen, the ground floor had plenty of space, the bathroom was spacious, and the owners were welcoming.
A lovely cottage in a wonderful area. The hosts were very nice and attentive.
We had a very relaxing time in this lovely cottage. It is well equipped and thoughtfully set up.
The cottage was in a good loction to travel around to see Dorset. The cottage was of a very high standard and the owners were very nice. It wasn't too far from the local shops, which was helpful for fresh bread. There is a lovely baker in the local town.
A well equipped cottage in a 'get away from it all' location but within easy reach of Shaftsbury, Stourhead, Sherborne and with easy walking along the Stour Valley.
The cottage was a great base to explore Dorset.
A comfortable, warm cottage with easy access to all that Dorset has to offer.
It couldn't have been better! Perfect relaxing possibility at Belview Cottage (peaceful and charming)!!!
Everything was perfect and the owners were lovely too.
The attention to detail in the cottage especially the items for young children ie the fitted stair gate and blackout blinds in the bedrooms was excellent. Cleanliness was of a very high standard. The location was very good for attractions whatever the weather and the owners were very approachable if needed. They have obviously worked very hard to create a property of a very high standard which added to the enjoyment of our holiday.
Scenery, good food, lots of walks.
The welcoming and the beautiful country. A cottage that really offered everything!
We were a bit out of the way but the quality of the cottage outweighed everything else. We actually spent 5 days out and enjoyed it all. It was very relaxing.
Belview Cottage was beautiful; very clean and decorated to a high standard throughout. There was everything there that you could wish for and the setting was lovely. We had a very warm welcome from the owners even though we were much later than arranged.
The cottage is furnished and equipped to the highest standard and was immaculately clean. We had a wonderful week exploring the surrounding area. The cottage is situated in a very quiet rural village and we found everyone very friendly.
Simply the most comfortable and cleanest cottage we have stayed in, with the owners clearly concerned that guests have the most enjoyable stay possible.
Fantastic cottage, fantastic owners, and a wonderful location. It was peaceful but within short distance from various attractions. Would definitely recommend this holiday.
Beautifully equipped and clean accommodation
Lovely accommodation with all that we could need. Bit out of the way - everywhere was a drive away - but quiet and relaxed. Only reason it got four not five stars overall was the lack of space for the children to play outside - a tiny bit of fenced off garden within the owner's land, not really big enough for my seven-yr-old! Sat nav proved invaluable for the tiny Dorset lanes in the area.
High quality modern cottage ideally located for touring the best
a excellent, lovely cottage
We had a very good, romantic stay in Belview Cottage. It is a very excellent, lovely, enjoyable, good furnished cottage.
Excellent value for money in an idyllic setting.
Brian and Gillian Puddy who run Belview Cottage have thought of everything to give their guests a home from home in an idyllic country setting. The property is secure and secluded within the garden of the Puddy's family home. We stayed with our 19 month old daughter and 10 year old german shepherd cross and everything, from the blackout blinds in the bedrooms to the dog water bowl and outside tap in the cottage's private garden helped us to live our daily routine with ease! The kitchen is excellently well equipped, the cottage is finished to a superbly high standard and Fifehead Neville is surrounded by stunning walks and easy access by car to some of the most beautiful towns and villages in Dorset and the breathtaking Jurassic coast. We were made to feel very welcome and there was tea, coffee and biscuits and a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival which was hugely appreciated after a 4 hour drive!
The Puddy's have done a great job in providing a luxury holiday cottage at a very reasonable price. I have no doubt that we, as I am sure have many other previous guests, will be making a return visit.
Excellent, well equiped touring base
Extremely well appointed property with great attention to detail and a very high standard of cleanliness. Having a young child we found the blackout blinds in the bedrooms and the stair gate particularly useful. The private garden/patio area gave a safe area for our son to play and ourselves to relax after the days trips. Ideal location to explore Dorsets coastline and interior.
Super property, well equipped, clean AND accepts dogs
This property is set in the owners enclosed grounds, situated off the beaten track in a the small village of Fifehead Neville. Upon arrival there is always that feeling of apprehension "will it be a good standard". That feeling soon melted away - spotlessly clean and well equipped. It was great that we could bring our working cocker spaniel. Molly. We particularly like the fact that no animals are allowed upstairs, this ensures carpets etc are perfectly clean. The location is great but slightly isolated, this is not a problem however would of been nice to be within walking distance of a local shop (minor point).
There are plenty of walks with stunning views. We loved the market town of Blandford Forum, also slightly further afield Winbourne with its market on Friday.
Although the weather wasn't good the cottage made up for it. We booked through Sykes Cottages however the Owners Brian & Gillian Puddy inform us that they will not be using Sykes in future therefore booking are now made direct:
We will return!
Fabulous cottage in lovely Dorset countryside
Pleasantly situated in a quiet rural hamlet, a warm, light and airy cottage, immaculately maintained and well equipped, with far reaching views of the surrounding Blackmore Vale countryside. The owners of which have given much thought to the comfort of their temporary tenants, providing a thoughtful welcome pack and good information, maps, guides to the surrounding countryside. Ideally situated to enable visitors to easily reach the historic towns, countryside and coastline of Dorset
Quiet, Rural, High Quality
We had a superb stay at Belview: comfortable, clean, relaxed with excellent attention to detail.
Owners are on site if you need anything, and the gated entry gives you privacy.
The Dorma bedrooms have a low ceiling on one side though, which makes it difficult for anyone who is unsteady on their feet.
Fantastic Holiday Cottage
We have just returned from another Sykes Cottages, Belview Cottage in Fifefield Neville near Sturminster Newton, was a great find in a lovely village. The directions were excellent, and the cottage did not disappoint. Fantastic very well equipped kitchen with big upright freezer, leading to a tastefully decorated lounge with a lovely comfy suite. Nice big tv and top quality fixtures and fittings. The stairway leads you to a lovely bathroom with a shower as well The shower was very easy to use and lovely and hot, The main bedroom has a very comfy bed (mind your head on the eves) with lovely scenery outside the bedroom window .The second bedroom has 2 single beds .A lovely enclosed garden with patio furniture, Lovely pubs including The 3 Elms Pub on route to Sherbourne and The White Hart in Sturminster. Ludlow and Corfe Castle and Village are nearby.
The cottage was quiet and well equipped. We will definitely go there again.
A very comfortable cottage with everything you would possibly need. The owners were very welcoming and we has a relaxing week.
The owners were very friendly and approachable, they made you feel like their guests and asked us a few times throughout the week if things were ok. The next time we holiday in Dorset we will definitely stay there.
