Surrounded by magnificent cliffs, cosy harbours and a beautiful promenade, the Regency seaside resort of Weymouth’s coast is one to be admired. It certainly does make for a picturesque holiday in the sun. Weymouth hosts a clean and family-friendly beach which gently arcs between the shoreline and the town with a magnificent esplanade backed by fine Georgian houses directly behind it. The beach hosts various attractions, from trampolines to some unique sand sculptures, which have attracted visitors from all corners of the globe. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes and family attractions, including a Sea Life Adventure Park and Tower overlooking the beach. Everything you need throughout the day is a short walk away.

Weymouth offers plenty more attractions away from the beach, such as walking around the fabulous Jurassic coastline and even abseiling down its limestone cliffs. There are stunning views of the coastline from the Northe Fort, a Victorian structure with underground passages with displays, cannons and films showing its history. There are also superb facilities for water sports in Portland, such as windsurfing and sailing, which is the town’s main sport, providing a brilliant location for the London 2012 Olympic Sailing. There is also a large gig racing culture where you can participate or join in with the community and attend a town regatta to witness these popular races.
