Property Details

Y Stabal is a beautifully restored, semi detached stable conversion with full height sloping windows which connect guests inside the property with the beautiful surroundings outside. Being all on the ground floor, this cottage contains two ensuite bedrooms (one double and one twin with a pull out bed) as well as a fitted kitchen with Welsh slate work surfaces and an open plan living area comprising a dining area and a sitting room with large feature windows. Y Stabal is one of a group of three cottages that can accommodate twelve people in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park making this a real rural delight. Gelli Goch cottages are located just 4 miles from Trawsfynydd, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, in North Wales.

Dating back over 200 years, and lovingly and meticulously converted from long standing farm buildings, these Snowdonia cottages offer fantastic accommodation in delightful surroundings, and are sure to impress visitors with their eco-friendly credentials.

The underfloor heating systems of these Snowdonia cottages are powered by ground source heat pumps and they generate their own electricity through the use of photovoltaic roof tiles, producing enough energy to actually return a surplus to the National Grid. The owners of these Snowdonia cottages have succeeded in blending the existing character of the buildings with a number of impressive architectural features, and locally sourced materials have been used wherever possible.

Y Stabal is perfectly located in Gwynedd for accessing the Coed Y Brenin mountain biking centre, less than a mile away and there are a variety of adventure activities within easy reach. With ample space for relaxation, a convenient location for touring the area, peace and tranquillity in abundance, and a feeling of being 'in-touch' with the natural surroundings, these Snowdonia cottages will please even the most discerning of visitors. A very well thought out property with lovely owners.

by Ms Parrish on April 10th 2016

The property is well located, fresh, clean and modern. The owners left you alone to get on with it but were helpful if you needed them.

This is a super place in lovely condition. It had full broadband and satellite TV. The area has its own beauty and there is a lovely walk from the house to a lively stream with an old ford crossing. Being super insulated, it would be superb also during winter with huge windows, remote controlled blinds and velux openings. Had lovely owners.

This holiday cottage was outstanding, a pleasure to stay in. It was very well equipped and furnished. It was also located in a very good position for exploring Snowdonia and the Lleyn Peninsula. The owners were also very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful holiday cottage! Built and maintained to a high standard with all facilities and several thoughtful extras provided. The cottage was spotless on our arrival and we received a warm welcome from the owners. They really have gone that extra mile to create something wonderful. We honestly can't recommend this cottage enough!

It was just perfect. The weather was great, the natural beauty of Cymru is outstanding, and the place we stayed was very central to all interesting hot spots. We just had a lovely stay at Y Stabal and I should not forget to mention the warm welcome we had there! Our holiday? 5 stars out of 5.

Beautiful scenery and beaches. An excellent cottage, the cleanest one we have ever been in, with a lovely ambience. Lovely homemade cake provided for our arrival. White water rafting was loved by my kids and husband!

A fantastic place to stay by A FlipKey verified reviewer on September 19th 2011

We had a wonderful time in beautiful North Wales and couldn't have picked a better cottage to stay in. Mr and Mrs Mich-Llywelyn could not have made us more welcome. We'd definitely go back again.

Beautiful property for a relaxing holiday. The setting is perfect - beautiful, peaceful but has easy access to rest of Snowdonia National Park - good roads.

I have already done this. by A FlipKey verified reviewer on November 5th 2010

Excellent location for teenage boys and family. Lots to do.

by Mrs Jebb on October 12th 2010

This has been the best cottage we have stayed in. The brochure did not do it justice! It was 7 star. The location was very good indeed, the owners very friendly and helpful, yet discreet. We are very very satisfied customers.

by Mrs Fauguel on August 24th 2010

Lovely cottage, beautiful countryside and plenty of things to do, even when it rains!

by Mrs Crane on August 18th 2010

The property was in a lovely quiet location but also a great location for exploring the local attractions. The property was very modern and had all the equipment we needed. The owners were extremely friends and could not be more welcoming. We would definitely stay at the property again.

by Mrs Greensmith on August 16th 2010

We were a party of five; three adults and two fifteen year old boys. There were plenty of activities, walks and things to see and do for everyone visiting. We thought the efforts put into sustainability and self sufficiency were excellent. The property was extremely well appointed and the beds and white linen were five star. Little touches such as welcoming home baked cake, fresh flowers and bathroom accessories were thoughtful, useful and appreciated. Everyone enjoyed the friendly and homely atmosphere offered by the owners.
