Hollytree House, Ross-on-Wye

Large Herefordshire Country House With A Hot Tub. Sleeps 24. Pets Welcome

Hollytree House is a spacious country house that boasts beautiful views of the Wye Valley from its location above Symonds Yat. It provides self-catering accommodation for large family gatherings or groups of friends in a remote rural area.

This dog-friendly holiday cottage can accommodate up to 22 guests, making it perfect for vacations or weekend getaways. You can enjoy scenic riverside walks, explore the nearby Forest of Dean, and visit historic castles along the Welsh Marches from this picturesque corner of Herefordshire.

Hollytree House is a charming and cosy Victorian Villa that spans three floors. Its popularity as a holiday home is reflected in the high number of visitors who return to this tranquil and idyllic location time and time again. The House is safe and suitable for children and pets. It features a hot tub, riverside views, BBQ terraces, and breathtaking rural views. There are three delightful pubs/restaurants within walking distance, and four if you opt for a river ferry trip across the Wye. However, the temptation to dine in the House is just as strong, thanks to its fully-equipped kitchen and dining room with a table that comfortably seats 20 guests.

The accommodation includes:

• Two sitting rooms with open fires and window seats in a large bay window with river views.

• A cosy 'snug', perfect for those who want to relax with a good book and perhaps a glass of wine.

• A large dining room with sliding doors to the patio. You can open these in the summer to let in fresh air and the sounds of the countryside.

• A kitchen equipped with a range-style gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge and chest freezer, toaster, and all necessary implements and utensils to create everything from big brunches to banquets. Shopping is hassle-free - besides visiting local markets and farm shops for local produce, Waitrose in Monmouth and Tesco in Hereford deliver pre-ordered groceries to you.

• Five double bedrooms

• One twin bedroom

• Two family bedrooms, each sleeping four

• Double sofa bed on the 2nd-floor landing

• Two travel cots (please provide bedding) are also available and included in the price if required.

Step out into the fresh country air, where you will find a large lawn overlooking the Wye and a spacious patio. The patio has twin BBQs, plenty of dining furniture, and a hot tub. It is cool on warm summer days and warm on frosty, starlit winter nights.

There are plenty of fun activities and experiences within easy reach of Hollytree House. You can enjoy kayaking or cruising on the river. The area is a paradise for walkers, with walks to suit all ages and abilities. You can rent bikes or have an adrenaline-fueled morning at the Adventure Tower and Ropes. Or try the Go Ape Tree Top Adventure course, followed by a trip to Aunt Martha's Victorian Tea Rooms to replace lost calories.

For a more relaxed experience, you can explore the many bookshops in Hay-on-Wye, take a nostalgic ride on the Dean Forest Steam Railway, or visit Tintern Abbey.
