Fantastic holiday in superb cottage in Scottish Highlands

This cottage is in a fabulous location, on a worrking farm near to the owners own farmhouse but has enough seclusion to make you feel you're on your own Scottish estate. The cottage is very spacious, immaculately clean and has everything you need for a home from home experience. It's an ideal base to explore the Cairngorms and surrounds. The owners are a marvellous couple, helpful and friendly but never intrusive. Excellent all round.

A perfect cottage in a stunning location.

We found a dream cottage which was magnificantly equipped. It was homely and incredibly spacious. The views from each window were beautiful. The owners were very helpful and friendly. We saw lambs being born, cows and calves and even deer right from our window! We shall return!

Lesley Dixon

peace and tranquility.

Our hosts were very welcoming, especially the homemade cakes! The house is the best we have stayed in with magnificent views. It is so
relaxing and quite central for visiting nearby attractions. There is no mobile signal but a pay phone is in the house. This was a plus for us but may be a drawback for some.

A return visit!

This was our second stay at the cottage. It's a stunning place with every covenience you could want for a comfortable holiday. Internally it is well equipped and spotlessly clean. The views are gorgeous and it is ideally placed for touring the Highlands. I'm sure we'll be back!

A weekend to remember (apart from the weather)

Spent a wet weekend walking the Monaliadth munroes. What a great feeling it was at the end of each day to return to the warmth and comfort of our cottage. It was like a home away from home. Clean, well-equipped, comfortable and, in the brief interludes between downpours, had some of the most stunning views. Our hosts were gracious and very friendly and we would definitely return, albeit at a time of year when we could enjoy the views more!

very nice

Well kept & presented accommodation, lovely location, nice people.

Your grid ref is wrong. We had difficulty finding it and had to knock on doors. The ref should read 640 930 (not 626 930) your ref locates "Lagg (cottage)"

peaceful and yet fantastic to be outdoors and enjoy the spectacu

Staying at the Creag-Na-Sanais was a great choice. Peaceful , fantastic scenery and really family friendly. The cottage is kitted out with everything you need. The family who own it made us feel really welcome, but also left us to enjoy our holiday. Our little boy loved seeing and hearing the cows and sheep on their farm everyday. You cant just pop out to a shop, there's a fair bit of driving involved in the highlands but that's the beauty of the Scottish Highlands and around the Cairngorms. The roads are great. There is a fantastic remoteness up in the highlands , we did travel around to lots of different places and did a lot of driving. But it suits us as a family to explore and have that freedom to do so. We love Scotland. Coming from a beautiful part of the country already - cornwall, its a totally different feel and well worth visiting.

A lovely Cottage

We had a great time. We are four pensioners who explored the Highlands for the first time. The cottage is a little remote but it was fine for us. There were hares sitting on the front lawn in the evening and in the field across the road there were two deer. While out walking we came across a herd of deer crossing the road in front of us and a red squirrel in the woods. There was no wi-fi but that was a good thing. The family owners were lovely. We would definitely go back again.

What a find!

We had a great time in this very clean well equipped cottage. The location was excellent for exploring in many different directions. We were kept well entertained by both the farm and wild animals and birds. We had a friendly welcome with milk in the fridge and some delicious home made cakes. We hope to go again next year as there is still a lot we want to see and do.

Everything you want from a highland hideaway

On the first night you think you are in the middle of nowhere, but so many places are within 20 mins, and major cities in 60-90 mins. The house, this is no cottage, it is huge, is delightful, every need is catered for, the welcome is warm, the house big but cosy, and if the temperature drops the real fire is brilliant, and if it gets really cold, then the nearest distillery is only 10 mins away. Wildlife actually queues up to parade on front of the massive picture windows. It's just too good to keep secret. Phone signal is poor, and Internet non existent. Just what you want.

weluvlakegarda

It was absolutely perfect, it was so peaceful and relaxing, also the surroundings were stunning.

Miss Orrell

This is a beautifully situated, spacious and comfortable property. One of the best I have ever been in. It is well equipped with many thoughtful details, like the bird feeder on the fence and binoculars for watching the birds and wildlife. The panoramic views from this property are wonderful. The surrounding countryside is full of magic. We will certainly go back.

Ms Armstrong

Mr Troup

The owners had thought of everything, we even had a Real Christmas tree fully decorated with lights etc and home made mince pies with brandy butter upon our arrival. This was one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Please let the owners know how impressed we were, we will definitely book through Sykes again - Thank you very much & Happy New Year to you all!

A superb cottage with amazing scenery.

Mrs Smart

We loved the cottage and the location was beautiful. The owners were very friendly. Scotland is a beautiful country and the people are lovely. With so many places to visit, our holiday flew by too quickly.

Mrs Attard

I was absolutely amazed by this cottage, it had everything that you wanted, and I mean everything. Kitchen was very big and well equipped, wood for the fire and coal if you needed it, but luckily the weather was very good to us. Loved walking down by the river and seeing the deer. The scenery was brilliant. Cottage based in a very good position for Fort William and Inverness where we went dolphin watching at Chanary Point on the Moray Firth. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to get away from it all.

Mrs Rose

Watch wildlife and farm animals from the sitting room windows against a backdrop of spectacular mountain scenery.

Mrs Robinson

The cottage was to a very high standard and what we expected of a high quality rental. It was surrounded by stunning countryside and it also helped that the weather was very good for this part of Scotland in September. The property owners were very nice and could not be more helpful especially when the upstairs lights fused on the night that Scotland beat France 1 - 0 at football!

Mr Matthissen

Very roomy for 4 people - rooms all big.
Lots of light let in through many windows.
Lovely views from all rooms.
Handy for visiting Ayemore and Fort William.
Lots of activities available if wanted.
Lovely relaxing property to come back to at the end of the day.

Mr Green

The bit I most liked was, when you opened the curtains in the morning, the sheep and lambs were standing at the fence no more 15 to 20 feet from the window, as a city person this was a lovely experience. A lovely holiday in a beautiful country setting on the wners farm. A big spacious cottage and very thoughtful owners.

Mr Stacey

The setting of this cottage is exceptional, being set in open farmland and surrounded by mountain views.
If you can drag yourself away from this there is plenty to see and do in the area. The children particularly enjoyed the wildlife spotting at Rothiemurchis Estate and Loch Insh.

The cottage was very well equipped. We especially enjoyed the log fire. Also the nice welcoming scones our host had prepared for us, and even laid the fire for us!

Mrs Elven

On our arrival there was fresh chocolate fudge brownies and a roaring open fire, just right to welcome us. the cottage is in a great location with plenty to do and see regardless of whether walking, cycling or driving, the ever changing view over the Mondhliath mountains, the occasional stag and roe deer in the fields. We have stayed at this cottage on three occasions now and the standard has not dropped in the slightest, it is one of the best in its field. The area suits our requirements to the full and the owners are very helpful and friendly.

Mr Doherty

We liked everything about this cottage, it is clean and tidy, spacious and comfortable, and well-equipped! We have stayed here before and found the owners to be very friendly and always take time out to talk to their guests. The number of returning visitors say more than any amount or words in a review possibly could! We hope to return in 2010!
