Sail Loft

Just a stone’s throw west of the historic harbour town of Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, and built on the site of a former boathouse, Sail Loft provides a holiday oasis for families looking for a seaside apartment to escape their everyday lives. This self-catering apartment is one of seven in an idyllic location, situated on a shingle beach and coastal path along The Solent.

The delightful first-floor apartment features an open plan nestled in the eaves of a lovely complex within walking distance of Yarmouth. The two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment comfortably sleeps up to four in well-furnished, light and airy accommodation. The loft-style living area includes an electric fire, a TV with Freeview, large windows and a Juliet balcony overlooking the sea. Enjoy a meal cooked in the fully fitted kitchen and served in a cosy dining area, or walk next door to a delightful family-owned café.

Families can find plenty to do during their stay at Sail Loft. The complex has access to a private shingle beach and slipway for launching your boat – swimming isn’t advised due to The Solent’s strong tide and current. A short walk away is Fort Victoria Country Park and the Island Planetarium, while less than a mile away, stroll through Yarmouth Harbour and explore Yarmouth Castle, built by Henry VIII in 1547.

Our perfect holiday

We wanted to be close to the sea. As we booked late (and were going to the island during Cowes week!) we did not really expect to get in, but...
Sail Loft is actually on the beach!! The view from the lounge is like being on a ship, but without the movement.
The house was spotlessly clean and offered excellent accomodation. Good kitchen and bathroom facilities too. Ok, so the ceilings get low in places. That might bother some people, but we loved it.
The location is 'out of town' and you need your own transport, but Fort Victoria is a place we know well, so there were no surprises there.
We all hope to go there again; what more can I say?

Relaxing

We had a week at SailLoft, the perfect place to stay for a few quiet days with only the sound of the sea for company. It is within walking distance of Yarmouth for great places to eat and Yarmouth is so convenient for the ferry.

Very clean and comfortable with a picturesque view.

Really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was very clean, comfortable and well maintained. The view from the front room was a fantastic panoramic view of the Solent. The apartment is within easy walking distance of Yarmouth, which is a lovely picturesque village with a good selection of shops and eating places. We will definitely be booking this apartment again.

Lovely view and position

Great views and a fairly peaceful and very convenient position. The apartment is very spacious with good parking and instant access to the beach and sea. Down side was the apartment is in need of a little updating with particular attention to the pillows and bedding. It would have been nice to have had a dvd player and also internet access. Having said that the owner was very quick to help with any minor problem we had. I would certainly visit again as this is such a wonderful spot.

The Sail Loft, Yarmouth, Isle of Wight.

It is a super flat right on the edge of the Solent. Very easy to find, 5 minutes from the ferry. Spacious.

Mrs Hedges

The location and cottage. The Isle Of Wight is worth visiting.

Mr Waghorn

A lovely, quiet location right on the waterfront.

Mr Tutssel

A lovely, clean, well equipped property with fantastic sea views.

Mrs Powell

We enjoyed the fantastic view from the lounge. We wanted a sea view and the apartment felt almost like a cruise, but without the motion. As for the 'star' rating, we felt it should be higher! We plan to book the flat again.

Mr Jackson

The location of the property, listening to the waves and watching the boats. It was a joy to return to after a day out.

Mrs Burrell

This property is a gem - superb location and the outlook from the lounge is hard beat.

Mrs Playfoot

The view and the lay out. It was very clean and quiet, so peaceful and we would go again.

Mrs Lainchbury

A great location by the sea!

Mr Crouch

The beach location of the property and views of the sea from the main living area.

Miss Slater

This is the second time we have rented this property, as the location is superb. To open the French windows and hear the sea on the shingle is wonderful, and to watch the boats on the Solent, and to hear the rain on the roof is all very soothing. Also the new Boathouse restaurant was an added bonus.

Ms Evans Rees

A comfortable, clean and well maintained property with excellent views. The apartment overlooks the Solent and is within walking distance of Yarmouth with its shops and eating places. A brilliant holiday apartment for a family.

Mrs Berry

The location of the property is ideal. Close to Yarmouth and bus routes. Views of the sea/Solent very interesting. The property was comfortable and warm which given I was there in November was vital.

Mrs Malloy

The Sail Loft was lovely. The view was amazing & like nowhere we have ever stayed before. It was warm, comfortable & frankly wonderful. There was adequate parking & we had no issues with noise. Yarmouth is a truly charming place. The walk in from the Sail Loft was 15-20 minutes, but delightful. We would return without a second thought.

Mrs Mcgahey

There was an amazing view over The Solent from this lovely apartment. Had a superb holiday and the weather was perfect. There was so much to see on the Isle of Wight. Didn't see anywhere on the island that could have been more lovely than this one with its fabulous view and balcony.
