The enchanting Starboard provides light and open accommodation, located on a picturesque shingle beach and coastal path close to Fort Victoria Country Park. Built on the site of a former boathouse, this open-plan studio apartment provides panoramic views across the sea, an ideal romantic cottage for couples.

The apartment has a double bed, a well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a dining area, and a sitting area, including a TV with Freeview and electric convector heaters. The shower room is separate and includes a shower, basin, and WC. Outside is access to a private slipway. Dogs are welcome at £10 per week.

One can see all kinds of watercraft from the busy harbour, and the terminal is used for regular mainland ferry crossings to Lymington. Yarmouth’s pier and sailing club jetty is a good spot for crabbing. Among the highlights of the rest of the island are Tennyson Down, the beaches at Sandhard and Colwell and Totland bays and the towns of Newport and Ryde, all of which are easily accessible.

Truly relaxing with a magical view

From booking through Sykes with their helpful, friendly staff to being greeted by the owner of the property it was hassle free. Starboard is well equipped and comfortable and a magical place to stay with the shore on your doorstep. Everything is within easy reach of Yarmouth and you can get the ferry almost to your doorstep. It was our second stay at Starboard and we cant wait to go back. Thanks Sykes and John.

Location, Location, Location

Amazing, the beach is right outside the patio door, woodland with walks are behind, fabulous old fort with attractions to your left, cafe with garden to your right. This place is heaven. The accomodation is basic but the location makes up for it. Cannot wait to return.

Only a hop, skip and a jump to the sea

Compact but cosy, this boathouse is perfectly situated for a beachside holiday. Only 10 minutes stroll to the the village along the beach or a longer coastal walk in either direction. The dreamy can spend all day or evening just watching the boats and the changing light and waves right from the armchair, outside area or on the beach in front of the property.

We knew exactly where the property was situated and it is in an area of the Isle of Wight we like very much. There are a number of eateries very close by (including next door) but that did not detract at all. Being directly on the beach made it very easy to take the dog for a quick stroll. I had a sneaky feeling that the quality of the property would be very high and we were not disappointed.

Mr Brown

Loved all of it! Really relaxing holiday in a good location and accommodation. Great view and the dog loved being with us and enjoyed her morning walk along the beach. She looked very down when we returned home!

Mrs Salter

The magic from listening to the waves whilst sitting in bed. The view was fantastic. Our dog Cassie loved looking through the French windows over the Solent and walks along the sea front. The most romantic of holidays.
After a long hard year of working it was everything we could have hoped to charge our batteries for a new year.

You can't experience the magic truly unless you visit!

Can't wait until we come back again

Superb location and very peaceful!
Excellent views across the Solent, just open the patio doors and you're on the beach. You really can't get any better!
Great walks around the Fort Victoria Country Park and along the coastal path routes. Just a short walk into Yarmouth and a coffee and cake from Grace's Bakery on the harbour side when you get there. An all round superb holiday.....

Mr Golding

It was fantastic to have accommodation so close to the sea. It was also very close to Yarmouth, so easy to walk in, catch the bus, pick up supplies, go for a drink without taking the car.

Ms Webb

In a perfect location, on the beach and next to a really friendly cafe that was open during the day. The apartment was thoughtfully furnished including a full length mirror, a shelf in the bathroom and shaver socket. The floor is laminated and easy to keep clean. It was just right for two people. We loved the rural location and were happy to walk to nearby Yarmouth where we loved the bird life and lovely walks. It was also fascinating to sit in the apartment and watch the ships, yachts and boats go by.
