Deerclose Farmhouse

Deerclose Farmhouse is a large rural farmhouse near the Yorkshire Dales village of Horsehouse in Coverdale. This large holiday farmhouse sleeps up to 16 people in 6 bedrooms in a very rural and quiet location, nicely off the beaten track in this popular area of the dales near Leyburn. Set in one and a half acres of its own grounds, Deerclose West is perfect for self-catering holidays for a large family gathering or families seeking a large Yorkshire Dales farmhouse amidst a peaceful and rural setting in a tranquil location.

Deerclose Farmhouse in Horsehouse is a fully renovated property with much to offer. Two parts are the former traditional Yorkshire farmhouse and an internally connected converted barn that combine to create one large holiday property. With great views over the Coverdale from its location on a hill, there is plenty of external space to enjoy, including a stream and a mini waterfall.

The original farmhouse retains its traditional character with a wood burner in a sitting room that seats up to eight people. There is an open-plan dining area and kitchen in the converted barn with a dining table that can seat up to 16 people and a gallery above it with reading chairs for two that look down across the open-plan space below. The kitchen is set underneath the gallery and has an AGA, a separate electric oven and a hob, a microwave, a fridge freezer, a dishwasher and many standard appliances and utensils. The final ground floor room is an additional sitting room with a woodburner.

There are six bedrooms in total at Deerclose West in Coverdale. On the ground floor is a double bedroom with a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom, perfect for less flexible people. Another king-size double has its own ensuite bathroom with a free-standing bath and separate shower, great for those who like a touch of luxuriant relaxation. Four other rooms include:

• A king-size double that has two stacker beds and can sleep four in total

• A king-sized ground-floor bedroom with access to the shower room

• A first-floor twin bedroom

• A family bathroom with a bath, a separate shower unit, and an en suite.

Deerclose offers plenty of space both inside and out. It has parking for eight cars and numerous walks from the front door, not least the best one, which leads to the village and pub approximately one mile away.

Leave your mobile phone at home, but there is broadband and Wi-Fi at the property if you need access to the world outside. Just use Winster Hall’s facilities as a base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and a place for leisurely relaxation in a grand style. It’s certainly somewhere to forget about work in this beautiful, tranquil location.

By Far The Best Equipped Accommodation

The property was absolutely perfect with enough space for our extended family. We have stayed in lots of self catering accommodation but this was by far the best equipped. The location was stunning and we all want to come back to explore the area further.

A Lovely Farmhouse AND Location

This farmhouse provided a lovely location for a celebration of both a 60th and 30th birthday. The space and facilities were good and the location and surroundings were perfect for the group of people who gathered, both young and not so young.
