One of nine cottages created from a group of traditional stone-built barns surrounding a secluded courtyard, Pigeon Cote near the market town of Pickering, North Yorkshire, offers excellent accommodation on the edge of picturesque North York Moors National Park.

This countryside cottage is part of Keld Head Farm Cottages, individually designed yet retaining much of the original character and features, including open beamed ceilings, traditional stone fireplace, pantile roof, full central heating, and double glazing. Each cottage is tastefully decorated and fitted out with coordinated quality fabrics.

This child-friendly cottage features an entrance hall opening onto a spacious sitting room with a stone fireplace, a living flame gas fire, and a flat-screen TV. The master double bedroom has a four-poster bed, while the second one includes a double and single bed.

Pigeon Cote also features a pretty garden with furniture to enjoy a bottle of wine or an al-fresco meal whilst breathing in the crisp country air.

Pickering sits at the foot of the moors that make up the national park and features a parish church with medieval wall paintings and good local pubs serving real ale and tasty regional dishes.

The spectacular rolling hills of North York Moors National Park, with their heather-clad moorland, woodland, and forest, beckon nearby. Alternatively, take the short drive to Yorkshire’s scenic heritage coast, where Filey, Scarborough, and Whitby await.
