The Power House, Skinningrove

The Powerhouse is a beautiful conversion of a former Victorian powerhouse 800 yards from the sandy beach in a former North Yorkshire fishing village.

Restored to a very high standard, this coastal holiday cottage in Skinningrove includes a magnificent entrance hall with a central ash staircase leading to a galleried landing with a leaded glass dome.

The Power House offers superb, light and airy accommodation, including a sitting room with a feature Victorian cast iron fireplace, arched windows and sea views.

Two separate kitchens provide all the facilities you will need, including a glorious Yorkshire range, a real focal point of this Skinningrove cottage, and one dining table incorporating a slate bed snooker table.

There are two sitting rooms with TVs, one of which has a double sofa bed and ramped access, which may make this delightful property suitable for accompanied disabled.

Six bedrooms include two with four poster beds and two with en-suite bathrooms, offering a touch of luxury and great flexibility over the sleeping arrangements.

A family-sized four-person bedroom has two single beds on a mezzanine floor with a distinctive porthole giving sea views. Also,  there are three further bathrooms, one of which boasts a beautiful roll-top slipper bath.

The historic town of Whitby and the coastal villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay are all easily reached, as is the lovely scenery of the nearby North York Moors National Park, making this a great Skinningrove holiday cottage for exploring this fabulous region, any time of the year.

An Amazing Holiday House

We found the holiday amazing and had the best time so really happy. I have recommended to friends and shown pictures and would definitely book again in a shot. The Kaskane cafe/bar was brilliant being so close too - perfect! We were blessed with weather also as an added bonus so the walk to the beach worked well too.

Highly Recommended

An amazing property, the photos don't do it justice. The rooms were clean and had lovely bed linen, towels were provided. The kitchen(s) were perfect, fully fitted with appliances and utensils. The living spaces were ideal for our group, there were plenty of sofas. Everything was simply catered for. Some of my group are looking to re book for their personal use at a later date. Highly recommended.

Quiet and Spacious

Loved the summer house with the hot tub and loved the house itself. Considering how many people it can hold it was quiet and there's enough space

A Good Property For Time Together

Loved the size of the property, we were a party of 12 and there was enough bedrooms for all our party, this gave everyone their own space. The hot tub and pool table were the real selling point to my using of the property, because Skinningrove is such a small area it meant our party could spend time together.
