Nice quiet holiday - lovely cottage and very nice owners.

Mrs Spencer

The owners of the property were really friendly and helpful, made us feel really welcome. Enclosed garden was really ideal for our dog. Cottage was a nice walking distance to Whitby for us. It felt like home.

Mrs Barnes

The location of the property was a 20 minute walk from Whitby harbour. The owners of the property live next door and are friendly and helpful. The garden was contained and ideal for the dog.

Mr Foyston

It was very peaceful and restful in pleasant surroundings. The owner was very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Mrs Snelling

The cottage was perfect for us. Easy access to Whitby itself.

Mrs Peacock

We arrived on a freezing cold day to a scrupulously clean, nicely warmed cottage with a nice packet of locally sourced biscuits awaiting us on the table. The owner was welcoming but she then left us alone to enjoy our break.
The photos on Sykes website don't do this property justice. We thought we were going to an old jaded cottage instead we found ourselves in a relatively new barn conversion with a high vaulted ceiling and chandeliers. There is also an excellent power shower, a dishwasher and good quality bedding.

Mrs Stevens

We have stayed three times at this cottage and each time the standard as been exceptionally high. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. Lots of room to walk our dog.

Mr Greenhalgh

The holiday accommodation was the nicest place we have stayed in having holidayed in Whitby for 8 years. The location was excellent for easy access to all the amenities and the beach. All local eateries were happy to deliver to the door. The attention to detail by the owners was exceptional, and we look forward to our next visit to Broadings Cottage.

Mr Sampson

Welcoming and helpful owners. Beautiful situation/views. Very clean, well equipped. Ideal for dogs - safe garden area, plus field for on lead early morning walks. Definitely hope to have a short break there again next Spring. Thank you!

Miss Duncan

We have just had a wonderful 3 day holiday! Just perfect in every way.

Mrs Brogan

This was a beautiful place to stay; a lovely area, fantastic scenery and an ideal location. There's nothing in the cottage that I could fault, it was brilliant. Will definitely book again.

Mrs Perrie

Boradings Cottage is a cosy cottage, great under floor heating which was very welcome as I chose a particularly cold week in December. Well equipped kitchen in a spacious living area. Great views from the property, with a lovely enclosed garden and parking area. Great location, in the countryside, and very peaceful just on the outskirts of Whitby, but only a 20 minute walk into town, or five minute drive. Great location to explore other areas of the coast from too. Lovely to be able to take my dog, enclosed garden was brilliant.

Miss Bickerdike

The cottage is so cosy and comfortable, easy to stay in for a week with lovely under floor heating. Beautiful panoramic views over fields and moors. Friendly but not intrusive owners and it is private but yet so close to Whitby, very good value for money. We would book again but it seems very popular and already booked up for our next holiday.

Mrs Brook

We liked everything about the cottage, especially the location, it was close enough to Whitby without being in the centre of Whitby. The owners were very friendly when we first arrived, and although they were only a couple of doors away they never bothered us. An excellent holiday, we will definitely be returning!

Mr Walton

The property and the hosts were first class. We have been visiting the North York Moors area for the past 8 years and this is the best yet. The views from the cottage were excellent, much better than we expected.
Looking forward to our next holiday here.

Mr Binch

We loved our holiday, the cottage was immaculate, very cosy and comfortable. We had everything we needed and the owner was very welcoming. We would definitely go back.

Mrs Grayson

The stay at broadens cottage was excellent, a lovely working farm environment and lovely people.

Mr Sampson

A lovely cosy cottage, where dogs are welcome. The owners were friendly and we enjoyed Whitby and other surrounding areas.

Fabulous views and great accommodation, just what we needed for a quiet weekend away. Being dog friendly was a great bonus.

Mrs Gadsby

Broadings Cottage is ideally situated for Whitby and the surrounding area.

Good views, excellant accomodation on working farm

Made very welcome on arrival by owners. Broadings is a nicely decorated and clean cottage with all necessary furniture and fittings for a relaxed holiday. Owners live in adjacent farmhouse and although always available do not intrude. Good location for exploring yorks moors and coast with many good pubs of which most are dog friendly. There is a camping and caravan site adjacent but this is not to the detriment of the cottage and should not deter anyone from visiting. Location affords excellant views of surrounding coutryside. A cottage of the highest standard which we would hesitate in recommending to anyone.

Total Relaxation

From the second we arrived to a warm greeting we began to relax. An unseasonably warm february afternoon saw us drinking coffee and the complimentary home baked biscuits outside. Drinking coffee and drinking in the fabulous view from this property.
Warm, comfortable, and homely, this cottage has everything you could need (except perhaps a king size bed). Whitby centre just a mile away, the energetic could even walk!
The perfect location for a weekend away.

Cosy cottage, great location

Cosy cottage. Has great under floor heating which was very welcome as I chose a particularly cold week in December. Lovely to be able to take my two dogs with no quibbles or extra charges. The enclosed garden was brilliant for them.

Fantastic place, loved it

We stayed here for three nights in the middle of December with our two dogs in the smaller of the 2 cottages. We are very familiar with the area so knew our way around Whitby were also walkers so for us it's only a short walk into the outskirts of Whitby but if you wanted to go further and are not walkers then you'll probably want to use the car.

The cottage itself is lovely I was very impressed we had a private garden where we could park the car and their were no escape routes for the dogs which meant they had the run of the garden. The owner met us and showed us round, we had plenty of room the kitchen is very spacious and included, fridge, washer and dishwasher, towels and bedding were included as well as a supply of cleaning products and some rather tasty biscuits. I do have to point out that the shower nearlly blasted me out of the bath and the bath tub was the best I could stretch out and it was deep and wide, these two things were my highlight. It was lovely and cosy we were never cold and one of my dogs in particular loved the underfloor heating though it took us a while to get used to it. We never saw the owner again until we were leaving which suited us as we like to be left to our own devices, however this is also their moto.

I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again and have already recommended it to some of my doggy friends, just wish we could have stayed longer.

Please note there is also a campsite attached to this property which is only open March to October so I cannot comment on what it would be like with more people about for us there was one family in the other cottage (there are only 2 cottages) and it was winter time so possibly quieter then normal.

Beautiful Cottage

I wouldn't normally review a place twice but this deserves it, again we were met by very friendly hosts and the cottage is so lovely i'd give it 10 stars if I could, we had a lovely break for my husbands 40th birthday just before Christmas and everything was as it was the year before I can't fault it, I just wish this could be a regular Christmas break for us. Don't hesitate you'll love it!!

Every thing about the cottage was perfect. There was safe secure parking, lovley views and friendly people. The cottage was about 1 mile out of town and we did some great walks from there.

Mr & Mrs Garlick

We describe the cottage and the owners in one word - perfect. Thank you very much.

Mrs Andrews

We found the cottage had everything one could wish. Whilst on holiday nothing had been forgotten for young and old alike. The owners made us very welcome.

Mrs Piper

The owners made us feel particularly welcome, and our little son enjoyed access to the lambs in the barn any time he wanted! A real home from home. We will be back!

Mrs Whyman

Friendly owners. The underfloor heating was wonderful. The children loved the farm and the close interaction with the animals. The farm is also within walking distance of the main town, and there are lots of things to do in and around Whitby. We hired bicycles one day, and saw deer on a walk we did on another day. Excellent holiday!

Mrs Barker

we enjoyed the fact that the cottage was on a working farm - especially seeing all the newborn lambs. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Ideally situated for the short walks into Ruswarp and Whitby. Lovely views overlooking the surrounding countryside. Once again, a wonderful cottage booked through Sykes!!

Mr Holt

A lovely property, handy location. The
owners were very friendly and we could walk the dog in the fields.

Ms Knowles

Very good cottage we had a good reception (bottle of wine & biscuits)Good secure car parking, Cottage just a nice distance from Whitby .Overall very good.

Mr Rockley

The property was on a quiet farm with very picturesque views of the North York Moors and within 3 minutes of Whitby West Cliff. A great base to explore the North Yorkshire Coastline. The owners were very friendly and a nice bottle of wine and foxes biscuit pack were waiting on the dining table when we arrived.
The property is ideal for a young family of four and there was plently of room in the living area. The kitchen area was large with every utensil I could imagine. The garden area was sizeable and enclosed and a great area to sit out and eat and for the kids to play.
Highly recommended.

Mr Shackleton

We really enjoyed the whole holiday, the location was very convenient, the views were splendid, the owners were very friendly, and the cottage was just like home from home.

Mrs Ellingham

Underfloor heating excellent - very warm and cosy in winter. Near to the coast, but with a sense of being in the middle of the countryside. Would visit again!

Mrs Morris

Our second visit in 2 years. Still 1st class so that speaks for itself.

Mr Rockley

The owners of the cottage were friendly and approachable and had even put the under floor heating on ready for our arrival. The cottage was spotlessly clean and lived up to our expectations. We had a wonderful week enjoying everything that Whitby and the surrounding countryside had to offer.

Mrs Heighton
