The Ticket office is the ideal cottage for couples seeking something different. The Grade II listed former ticket office in Ruswarp features mullion windows, a cast iron fireplace and tongue and grooved panelled walls in a nod to its former life as a ticket office.
The stone-built property features a cabin-style double bedroom set in the eaves and a shower room, plus a separate room with basin and WC. The character-filled and quirky open-plan living area is accessed via the spiral staircase and includes a compact kitchen, dining area and sitting area with living-flame gas fire.
Every room has been carefully furnished in keeping with the character of the property. Central heating keeps the cottage cosy in any season and guests can relax with the TV with Freesat, DVD and radio/CD player.
Trips can be planned with the WiFi and couples are also provided with off-road parking and space for one dog.
The Ticket Office is also unique in that it lies next to the train station. Steams trains still puff sedately past, so hop on the train and explore the Esk Valley.
In Ruswarp itself, couples will find shopping and dining, and in the wider region will find the coastal town of Whitby and the attractions of the North York Moors.
