Jenny's Cottage in Alnwick

this was the second time we have stayed at jenny's cottage and both times we found it to be very clean and tidy, the senery is idealic this is a nice quiet place to relax the owner's are very helpful if I was to have one critisism it would be that there should be a small freezer in the cottage for those staying upto a week other than that it's the perfect holiday and would recommend to anyone. We hope to return there again in the future.

On a working farm, this is one of three 2 storey cottages converted from a barn (they also have other cottages and Bed and breakfast in their adjacent farmhouse. Our cottage had a four poster bed and bathroom on the ground floor and a lounge/diner/kitchen in a modern open-plan layout(well designed by the owner)
We had a great view of the sea across the fields and were able to watch the resident barn owl hunting over the field. We booked there to be near Alnwick Garden and to be able to birdwatch on the farne islands and Lindisfarne. It was ideal for this and we had perfect sunny weather all week!
Only possible problem for less abled perople is the spiral staircase, but the adjacent unit had a proper staircase-as maybe the others do too-so ask before booking. Not a problem for us. We would recommend.

We picked Jenny's Cottage off the internet, and are so glad we did.
Situated on a working farm, it is easily accessible from the a1, and only a short drive into alnmouth or alnwick - perfect for exploring all the properties and gardens in the surrounding area.
The cottage itself is very well appointed, with living space/kitchen on the first floor, accessed by a spiral staircase, and bedroom/bathroom on the ground. The view from the first floor window is across the fields to alnmouth and the sea - couldn't be better !
The owners live in the farmhouse across the courtyard, and were extremely friendly and helpful, without being at all intrusive. We will definitely be returning !

Like the other reviews we cannot fault this cottage as it has everything you need for a relaxing break and the owners are onhand if required. Best night sleeps we have had for a while and we just loved the peace and quiet.

Cottage was spotless and very romantic - lovely modern decor, gorgeous four-poster bed. Even nicer than it looks in the photos. Great location for exploring the area - we walked on the beach, went to alnwick Castle and Gardens (inc the Treehouse restaurant!), Dunstanburgh Castle, Barter books...all within a ten-fifteen minute drive. Friendly, helpful owners. Will be recommending to friends and family who want to explore Northumberland.

Accommodation was fantastic it was faultless. The owners are very friendly. The surrounding area and the views make it all worthwhile visiting Northumberland. We were very lucky that the weather was good to us in February.

I would recommend visiting here without a doubt.

Very pleased to have found the property. Lovely location and nicely set up for a couple. Well designed for occupants to take advantage of the wonderful views. Quirky in a nice way and perfectly compact without being cramped.

Beautiful romantic cottage, you'll love it! Four poster bed, winding staircase, open plan kitchen and living room - just lovely.

Jenny's cottage is an excellent little cottage for couples to relax and unwind. It was everything the brochure said it would be and more. I would highly recommend this to any couples thinking of getting away from it all and unwinding in nice peaceful surroundings, even if the weather is not too good. Looking forward to going back again soon.

The amazing views from the cottage

Our stay at Jenny's Cottage was fabulous, the views from the lounge window were fantastic we will be returning in the future.

The accommodation was excellent. It was an excellent base in which to discover more of Northumbria. The Schooner in Alnmouth served good food. Copperfields in Alnwick did good home cooking.

Complete seclusion.

The property was by far the most comfortable and clean property we have stayed in to date and the furniture and fittings were the icing on the cake! The owners of the property went out of their way to be helpful.The beaches in the area were stunning, and the Alnwick gardens were quite spectacular.

The jacuzzi bath was great for relaxing after a days walking.

The cottage had a wonderful view of the coast and was very cosy. We even had Christmas decorations and holly! A wonderful holiday with plenty to see and do within easy reach. We really hoped we would get snowed in and have to stay for longer.

The accommodation was excellent, with unsurpressed views of the coastline. The sudden fall of snow enhanced the near perfect relaxed atmosphere. Well worth a second visit.

The owners left us alone for the weekend, but were on hand if we had any queries - just as we like it! There was nothing that we didn't like about either the holiday or the property.

The Saddle Hotel Grill and Red Lion in Alnmouth both serve excellent food. A nice, relaxing and peaceful holiday. The accommodation was excellent.

A good location, close to Alnmouth and fantastic sandy beaches, and also in a good position for exploring further afield. The design of the cottage with the living room upstairs to make the most of a lovely view was good. The cottage was very clean, and the four poster bed rather quirky! The microwave and dishwasher were definite plusses.

A lovely, peaceful, relaxing break in a cosy, comfortable romantic cottage for 2, plus great food at the Oaks Hotel in Alnwick.

The modern design of the barn conversion and the lounge upstairs gave us great views from the sofa right across the fields to the sea. We could also watch the Barn Owls catching prey in the field from our seat. Good location for all the must-see visitor attractions.

We were delighted with the friendliness of the owners of the cottage, and the people of Northumbria. Such a friendly area, very tidy, pretty and well looked after. There was lovely clean beaches nearby with beautiful golden sands.

We received a very warm welcome on our arrival and despite freezing temperatures the cottage was invitingly warm. Everything is finished to a very high standard and there is a wonderful view from the top window. We'll be back.

The property had a good sea view and was close to Alnmouth & Alnwick. It had good parking and the jacuzzi was very good.

Jenny's Cottage is superb. Very comfortable - especially the bed. Beautiful views over to the sea. Very quiet. We just loved the spectacular coast and countryside. Plenty to do and see including boat trip to the Farne Islands, Hadrians Wall and Druridge Bay. Thursday lunchtimes, go to Druridge Bay visitor centre to hear an informal demonstration of the Northumbrian Small Pipes.
