Stephen's Cottage in Alnmouth

Setting: Wonderful next to farm but did not experience any noise or "whiffs". Very peaceful and quiet. Lovely private garden at back of cottage. No problems with parking.

Cottage: Best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Extremely clean and comfortable - actually had a comfortable sofa - (not the usual holiday cottage sit up and beg type). Kitchen appliances and equipment excellent.
Bathroom lovely.

Owner: Friendly, welcoming and approachable. We knew she was there to ask for help if we needed it, but left us to our devices - great.

Expect farm noises and smells but these not intrusive. Car needed but plenty of parking space. within easy reach of fine coastal scenery, nature reserves, historic sites etc. facilities in cottage more than adequate for 4 adults.

On arrival the owner called in to see if we had any problems, then left us alone for the rest of the holiday. We were delighted with the house which had two lovely bathrooms and a large kitchen which was great for six people. It also had a big walled communal garden which was ideal for children. There were lots of beautiful beaches within reach and we visited lots of castles and gardens. We did see everything at its best as we had hot, sunny weather. We can't wait to go back.

One of three farm cottages situated a short distance inland from Alnmouth. The location is quiet and peaceful yet only a short drive to local pubs and restaurants . Walking from the farm is possible but route finding is difficult along the edge of cornfields.
The cottage is clean,,warm and very comfortable ,well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Lots of extras are included for example books, DVDs ,games and tourist information. There is a large lawned area shared by all three cottages which is screened with shrubs and gated making it a safe place for young children.
Centrally located for exploring the Northumbria coast.

This cottage is smack bang in the middle of Rothbury and shops, pubs and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk. It is within walking distance of Cragside (well worth a visit) and a lovely walk down by the river. The cottage has a great dining kitchen and other rooms are all a decent size and very comfortable.

The cottage was very clean, well furnished, and lovely and warm, which was great to come back to after a long walk. The kitchen had all the appliances you could wish for including a dish washer. There was a huge amount of brochures and details of local places of interest worth visiting, which gave us new ideas of places to visit.

The beaches were lovely at Alnmouth. The kids loved the garden (great for young ones).

Everything. Apart from the quality of accommodation, the area is ideal for a range of activities from sightseeing, walking, golfing or lazing on the beach. Mostly we enjoyed relaxing safe in the knowledge our children were playing in safety in the garden. The owners were exceptionally nice and helpful.

The site of the cottage was was excellent. A good base for walkers and those who want to just chill out!

Good central position for going to all parts of Northumbria. Garden was excellent for children.

It was a great location for a family holiday. The cottage was really warm and comfortable and it didn't feel cramped even although there were 6 adults and 2 children.

The cottage was a great base for our first visit to Northumbria. The owner was very helpful and came to check we were ok, which we appreciated. The beaches nearby were gorgeous and we did some lovely walks. Excellent tea rooms in Copper Kettle and at Bamburgh especially. Cragside near Rothbury was an excellent day out, kippers from Craster recommended too.

The garden is spacious, and ideal for childrens games. Alnmouth Beach, the closest beach, is very good, particularly with low tide.

The location was a perfect base for sightseeing, and the property was very comfortable.

The cottage was spacious, modern and well equipped. The owners provided high chair and full sized cot. The kitchen was modern and well equipped, the bathrooms were superb. Very large back garden to play with the children outside.

The enclosed garden is good for kids. Excellent facilities.

The cottage was very comfortable, attractive and homely. Having 2 bathrooms was particularly useful. There was plenty of information on the local area and useful leaflets.

An ideal family holiday being with grandchildren from the South of England and the North of Scotland. Everything was wonderful.

Stephen's Cottage was beautifully located with easy access to the lovely beaches at Alnmouth. It was well furnished, clean and peaceful. The owners were also very welcoming.

A great holiday in beautiful Northumberland. Very nice property and the owners are excellent hosts. Quite a lot of excellent real ale pubs in the vicinity.

We loved the location of the cottage. Beautiful beaches, castles and gardens were all within easy reach. The owner came to see us at the start of the holiday to make sure we were happy and said if there was anything we needed to contact her and then left us alone. The icing on the cake was the beautiful weather. The week wasn't long enough to see everything so we will return.

Owners very welcoming and friendly. Beds were the most comfortable we have slept in whilst on holiday! Cottage lovely, location great, easy access to beach and surrounding areas. Would definitely stay again.

This is a fantastic base to explore a beautiful area with excellent beaches, historic castles and beautiful villages. Would recommend a visit.
