Riechip

Riechip is a large eight-bedroom holiday home in Butterstone near Dunkeld in Perthshire. This superb holiday home sleeps 16 with beautiful views across the surrounding countryside, full of wildlife and spectacular scenery. As the former shooting lodge for the Duke of Atholl, Riechip is still widely used as a base for country sports enthusiasts and those who love the great outdoors and everything that Perthshire has to offer, including many high-quality golf courses.

Riechip’s ground floor is a traditional shooting lodge-styled sitting room with an open fire surrounded by sumptuous sofas and additional seating. The formal dining room has a large table that seats ten people with an additional table to the side. A full-length window offers lovely views of the countryside. It is an excellent room for eating and entertaining. There is a modern kitchen with a breakfast bar that seats four people. The kitchen has a gas hob, fridges, freezers, and a dishwasher. All other appliances, from an ice-making machine to a tumble drier, are available for you to use. There are more facilities, an additional utility room, a drying room, and a lockable gun store.

There are eight bedrooms at Riechip, including two double and six twin bedrooms. Five of the six twin bedrooms have zip and link beds that can be combined to make double beds on request. Dogs are allowed, although only outside of the spring lambing season. Families with children are more than welcome with a highchair and a cot available.

Riechip is excellent if you need a large holiday house in rural Perthshire. It’s ideal if you love countryside sports: Shooting is available by prior arrangement. This rural holiday home will require a four-wheel drive to get here in snowy and icy conditions. With Perth just 18 miles away, you can also visit a range of artisan shops, and the golf courses nearby are fantastic.

Exactly What We Required

Riechip was very comfortable and exactly what we required, in a good location for all of the activities in the vicinity. The drying room was essential and well used, the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cutlery & crockery. Beds were comfortable and most of the bedrooms were large. The living room was large with superb views over the valley.

We Had A Great Time!

he views from the property were spectacular. The house was big enough to accommodate the 16 people comfortably. The open fire was great and there was enough fire wood to last our stay. The kitchen was very well kitted out and made cooking easy. We had a great time!

Perfect For A Large Party

What a lovely welcoming house, perfect for a large party. We had everything we needed with plenty of room for everyone. Had beautiful views. The owner and the farmer who looks after the house were most helpful. We had a wonderful weekend and we would highly recommend this property. We will definitely be back!

A Lovely Family Holiday Weekend

We all had a lovely family holiday weekend. The grandchildren (all 9 of them) had a great time in the house playing hide and seek and other such games - it was very spacious. As the weather was good, we had plenty of walks and the little ones loved to watch the sheep. One of my sons-in law looked after the fire and made the lounge very comfortable in the evenings. We explored the area and all in all a good time was had by all.
