Drummer Cottage, Skinningrove

Drummer Cottage is a coastal cottage that comfortably sleeps families of up to five. This dog-friendly cottage is thoughtfully designed, decorated and furnished to provide contemporary accommodations. One bedroom comes with an adult bunk – a double underneath, single on top – and the fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar allows families to gather before embarking on the day’s adventures.

At night, relax comfortably with broadband WiFi throughout the cottage and a TV with Freesat to entertain, or enjoy the seaside breeze in the communal furnished garden with barbecue and views of North Sea beaches.

Long ago, Skinningrove was known for its ironstone mine that fuelled the UK industrialisation boom. The mine required pit ponies to haul the ore and stables to house the horses. Today, on the site where the stables stood, three delightful single-story cottages serve visitors to North Yorkshire looking to enjoy a seaside holiday.

Drummer Cottage is just a few minutes walk from the centre of the village, as well as the Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum and Cleveland Way National Trail. Just a short drive away is the natural beauty of North York Moors National Park, or golfers can tee it up at Hunley Hall Golf Club. Day trips to the picturesque villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay or the harbour town of Whitby are easily made.

To check availability, make an enquiry or book Drummer Cottage, please use the Visit Website buttons for further information. When enquiring, please tell us you found this Skinningrove holiday cottage in Redcar & Cleveland on the My Favourite Holiday Cottages website. Thank you.

perfect in everyway

The cottage is lovely, more than you could want, the christmas tree and the treats added a lovely touch. The children didn't want to come home, as soon as we set foot in the house it felt like "home".
A big thankyou to the owners and "see you next year.

We didn't want to leave!

We had three wonderfully relaxing weeks in Drummer, from December 21 to January 12, and we just can't thank the family enough for their gracious welcome and hospitality.
A lot of considerate thought has gone into furnishing this beautiful 2 bedroom cottage, from the high quality furniture, bedding, kitchen equipment and general decor, to an absolute must for those dark winter nights - a large flat screen TV with Freeview/Freesat & a DVD player.
In addition to the much appreciated and tasty welcome pack in the fridge, the fully decorated 7 foot Christmas tree in the living room was a delightful welcoming touch.
Everything you could possibly need or want was thoughtfully & tastefully provided, whether it be in the living room, bedrooms, kitchen (with the breakfast bar), bathroom (with the power shower), or the front hall.
All in all, it was a lovely relaxing 3 weeks away from our usual hustle and bustle, and we highly recommended two bar/restaurants for a great night's dining out.
The Water Wheel at the edge of Liverton, and the Tiger Inn in Easington, gave us 2 nights to remember, with outstanding food and service, and very important to visitors - a real good chin-wag with the folk behind, and in front of the bar!
Our sincerest thanks to all the Robinson family involved in making us feel so much at home, and for their hospitality and kindness, and we will definitely be coming back to the Drummer.

No peace

Lovely cottage clean and every thing you need for a relaxing holiday. But we didn't have a quiet relaxing holiday. We had to listen to music from the neighbours and if you like sitting with a glass of wine with washing surrounding you this is the place to stay as well as dogs on both sides. We went aware that the cottages on each side were nt holiday lets we only stayed one night and came home early for some peace

The cottage was an absolute home-from-home with everything you could need. It was spotless! If you have a dog there is a great park about a one minute walk away. We loved every minute of it, everything was great.

Miss Wilkinson

This was our 3rd year of booking a
holiday cottage with Sykes cottages. Drummer Cottage will now be our first choice in that area. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner and the
locals; great for anybody with or without a dog. We did not know what to expect with the cottage being next
to an old ironstone mine with museum. The cottage is perfect inside and out
with a walk down to a small beach and a larger expanse of sand a little further.

Mr & Mrs Foster

Great location to explore the surrounding area with lovely beaches at Saltburn, Skinningrove and Robin Hood's Bay. The cottage was modern, comfortable and well furnished. Overall a great holiday and we'll be back.

The cottage was beautiful in every way. Tastefully decorated, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. The cottage is very close to Skinningrove beach which is beautiful once you get past the harbour - miles of sand beaches. My son, myself and our puppy enjoyed our stay very much. We will be coming back.
