The Corn House

2-Bedroom, Family-Friendly Farm Cottage in Shropshire

In an idyllic location on a 100-acre working cattle farm, the Corn House is one of a group of brick-built barn conversions on the outskirts of the village of Leighton. In the Shropshire countryside, this luxuriously presented rural holiday cottage is full of charm with original oak beams, a wood burner, and a rustic brick inglenook fireplace.

The house has two bedrooms, sleeping four guests. The open-plan living area, with wall-mounted electric heaters with wood burner, TV with Freeview, DVD player, CD player, and WiFi, includes a well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, and washing machine. The shower room contains a shower, basin, and WC. Outside is a sitting area with furniture and countryside views, including views of the Long Mountain and the majestic Wrekin Hill.

Leighton’s charming village has many pubs, restaurants, shops, and tea rooms. The World Heritage Site of Ironbridge is only four miles away, home to the world’s first iron-built bridge, built from 1777 to 1779. The Ironbridge Museums include many industrial and Victorian-themed museums, including the well-known Blist Hill Victorian Village, a recreation of a Victorian village. Guests can also visit the medieval towns of Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Attingham Hall and Park, and the Wroxeter Roman City and Vineyard.

Great cottage. Lovely, interesting area.

Lovely cottage. Very comfortable with all the amenities required to make our stay comfortable. Friendly welcoming owners. The area is lovely. There are ugh a lot of places to visit, therefore plenty to do all week.

A beautiful, cosy, farmyard cottage

Me and my partner just returned from a weekend stay in the Cornhouse, which was a lovely break away. The cottage is located on a farm, with stunning views across the local countryside. There is lots to see around the local area, especially the Ironbridge gorge. Will definitely be coming back.

And the sponge cake waiting for us when we arrived was a nice touch :)

Third time here...not the last

My wife and I have stayed at Morrels Wood three times now, twice in the dairy and once in the Cornhouse. Lovely relaxing surroundings, comfortable accommodation and well worth the drive down the lane

The owners were very welcoming, providing us with a cake on arrival. The fire was already stocked up and roaring away for us getting there. The owner also kept us well stocked up on fresh supplies of wood every day. The log fire was particularly lovely.

Ms Brooks

Well appointed comfortable property with friendly yet unobtrusive owners.

The Corn Barn is situated on a working cattle farm in a lovely setting and was everything we expected plus more. For our children it was the first time they'd stayed on a farm and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Mrs Gray

The cottage was very quaint, on a working farm but very peaceful. It is very warm, cosy and comfortable and the owner made us very welcome. The cottage is in a very central position, close to Ironbridge, Shrewsbury and Much Wenlock. We had a very enjoyable stay .

Mrs Fowler

We loved the quiet and calm in beautiful surroundings, and of course the lovely cottage itself.
