Shells Cottage promises families a genuinely rural getaway. Steeped in tradition, the thatched cottage near Washford in Somerset boasts an open fire, exposed beams, wooden floors, modern comforts, and beautiful gardens.
The extensive grounds offer lovely and varied views of the surrounding countryside and include multiple spaces to relax and contemplate, including the pond. There is a lot of space to run free and various furnished areas for relaxation, socialising, al fresco dining, or enjoying the BBQ. Gaze at the night sky in the hot tub.
The interior offers a glimpse of yesteryear with exposed beams, wooden floors and an original fireplace with an open fire in the sitting room. The large dining area accommodates groups, while the kitchen contains a range cooker.
The tradition continues in the bedrooms, which include a double room, a room with bunk beds and a king-size room. A double room contains an en-suite shower, while Jack-and-Jill en-suites adjoin a twin and king-size room. Further bathrooms have a bath or shower.

BEAUTIFUL AND SECLUDED GARDEN
We had a fantastic week at Shells Cottage. The cottage was clean, well equipped and the grounds were beautiful, including a large private garden with barbecue and plenty of seating for a large party. The hot tub is great and the water was checked everyday. There are other holiday lodges on the grounds but you never feel overlooked. This is a perfect cottage for a group getaway in the countryside, and is in a great location for exploring West Somerset and Exmoor.
VERY WELL EQUIPPED
The cottage was lovely and very roomy for the number of people it was advertised for. It was also very well equipped in terms of cooking and catering facilities - far better than some properties we have rented in the past. The white goods equipment provided were also excellent. The onsite Manager was very welcoming and looked after us very well.”
PERFECT PROPERTY
It was absolutely perfect, we could not have asked for a nicer property. The bedding and towels were lovely, clean and fresh. The bathrooms and kitchen were spotless.
