The Rindle, Leek
Sleeps 14

The Rindle, Leek

One of three barn conversions on a former working farm, The Rindle provides a beautiful, traditional, yet contemporary feel for your family to enjoy on holiday. Far enough away to allow for an escape from the city life but close enough for you to make day trips into the city and catch a show, this stylish cottage has it all!

Each of the six bedrooms in this cottage is beautifully finished and will be the perfect place for you to rest your head, and most of the bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom to ensure privacy for a family of up to 14. The kitchen is well-equipped and opens into the dining area for your convenience. The sitting room has more than enough comfortable couches to accommodate a very large family, and it comes with a starter kit so you can set a fire in the hearth and enjoy each other’s company after a grand day.

With the exceptions of a local church and The Lazy Trout, a pub just down the road, The Rindle is pretty separated from the hustle and bustle of the city. You’ll find beautiful walking and cycling trails in your immediate vicinity, known as The Roaches. Just a short walk south takes you to the Tittesworth Reservoir, where you’ll have access to the visitor centre and be able to plan days of water activities.

A short drive can have you at any of several destinations. The market town of Leek is about four miles away. You can go 12 miles and arrive in Buxton for a spa day in their famous warm springs, see the exhibits in the historical museum and art gallery, or catch a show at the beautiful and opulent Buxton Opera House, which frequently has some big-name entertainment. Finally, your family can spend a day at the Alton Towers theme park 15 miles away.

When making a booking or an enquiry, please tell us that you found this Peak District holiday cottage near Leek on the My Favourite Holiday Cottages website. Thank you.

Fantastic!

13 of us stayed in this fantastic barn converstion! Fantastic location very close to Tittesworth Dam for a walk/run. The bedrooms were all roomy and fab and plenty of bathrooms!

We also had a lovely walk up to the Roaches and lucky for us the weather was glorious in October!

Mrs Reaney was very friendly and showed us round - bottles of wine and the chocolates were a nice welcome touch.

Loung/living area was lovely and we made use of the real fire and logs supplied.

Only suggestion I would make is to have a signpost on entrance.

I would definately recommend this and hopefully will be back one day! Keep up the good work.

Excellent Holiday in the Peaks

The house was beautiful, clean and modern inside. Perfectly located, very quiet and safe for the children.

Lovely property

One of the best things we found was that the kitchen and lounge areas were all one, this meant those that were preparing food were not on their own.

Good location for walkers with fine views of the Rindle

Family celebration

Nice welcoming touches of a bottle of wine and chocalates. Nice rooms clean and to a high standard. Fantastic pub in the village which is only a couple of mins walk. Lots of space and if any problems the owners are on site to help. It would have been nice if the grass in front of the house had of been cut so that the kids could have had a game of cricket or football.

Perfect for a large family or friends get-together!

We arrived to a very warm welcome by the owners, together with a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine. It was the perfect barn for our family of ten adults and a 2 year old. Comfortable seating for all and the open plan aspect meant we were all together - whether it was watching tv, cooking, playing games or just snoozing and there was plenty of space for our 'little one' to play. The location was lovely too with the pub just down the road. We would certainly recommend The Rindle and we may even be back again next year. Thank You!

Absolutely beautiful

We rented The Rindle along with the other 2 barns at the same location for my 40th birthday weekend and everyone was thrilled with them. Very high quality accomodation in a fantastic location. The open plan living area was perfect for a big get-together, and all three barns were really well equipped.
Can't recommend these barns highly enough - all my friends were asking for the details with a view to returning wth family or friends.
The owner was lovely and there's the added bonus of a great pub just a few minutes walk away (The Lazy Trout).

Accomodation, local area, local pubs and weather all excellent

We had a family get together to celebrate my wife's birthday. Most of us did not know the area, but it is lovely with many interesting walks. The accommodation suited us very well and there was ample of space outside for grandchildren to play. The local pubs we sampled were very good. An excellent weekend. We had perfect weather, and my only doubt was over how we would have coped with poor weather.

fantastic holiday!

Beautiful building in a beautiful spot. The kitchen is very well stocked and the property has a great communal room for everyone to socialise. Great heating system, very warm throughout and plenty of hot water whenever required. The park at the nearby reservoir was excellent for the children. We would definitely recommend and return, thanks for a great holiday!

Fantastic for large groups

Eleven of our family from around the world stayed In this gorgeous barn. We were very lucky with the weather and had a fab week here. The barn is so roomy and well equipped and I liked the fact that the large kitchen flowed into the lounge so that everyone was together. It was very clean and well equipped. The dining table was huge and sat everybody comfortably with room to spare. There was plenty of sofas in the lounge area. There are two large bedrooms on the ground floor and also a wet room. Please be aware there are steps around the barn which if you are wheelchair bound but I managed fine with crutches. We were greeted on arrival and the chocolates and wine were very much appreciated. There is a pub a few minutes walk away and a reservoir with a lovely play park and places to barbecue and picnic. Water sports were on offer while we were there. There are so many places to visit and the scenery is awesome. There are supermarkets ,shops etc a short drive away. We all enjoyed our stay but the highlight for the boys was the friendly rooster that came to visit each evening to be fed and petted lol. We would definitely recommend this barn and the owners were so helpful. Thanks for having us it was a wonderful holiday.

Simply outstanding

A most suitable accommodation for any size of party . Ours comprised of 12 people and everything was perfect . The accommodation is extremely well equipped and most comfortable with all the nice touches . There is plentiful heat and ample hot water even when all the showers etc are in use at the same time. On arrival there was a bottle of wine, flowers and chocolates waiting which was a nice welcome. Suzanne ,the owner came and said "hi" and she was most friendly. Nearby there is plenty to do and the local pub ,the lazy trout , is well worth the 5 minute stroll to. We will return here for sure.

Spacious accommodation for a family reunion, fully equipped and within easy reach of hikes and attractions.

The location has lovely views, is quiet and set well back from a country lane but not far from Leek, Buxton, Stoke and Macclesfield for groceries and museums. The Silk Museum in Macclesfield is a must. The Peak District scenery is beautiful, we went walking from the house or drove short distances first. Try renting bikes on the Monsal Trail from Hassop station near Bakewell. Rock climbers will love the nearby Roaches.
There was space for our toddler grandchildren to play outside and away from the road. Our group was 8 adults and two toddlers and there was plenty of seating at the very long table and in the lounge, and the 4 bathrooms meant no waiting for showers. I highly recommend this beautiful barn conversion.

The location, the accommodation and the friendliness of the owners. The house was very well proportioned, clean and tidy. We had sufficient space to give all 3 families their own space when needed whilst also allowing us all to get together as a large family. The rooms were all good sizes and beautifully decorated. There was a TV with free view, DVD books and a radio. The kitchen was fully equipt. Overall a very pleasant and welcoming home. The surrounding area was good for long walks.

We have been taking an annual cottage holiday with a large group of friends for over 10 years now and this is one of the best cottages we have stayed in. We loved the open plan set up, there was lots of space, it's very well equipped and it was great to have a nice pub within 5 minutes walk. We have used Sykes for the last few years now and have never been disappointed. Thanks for a great weekend.

The property was modern but also had 'features' that made the house cosy and homely. The size was great as well as the kitchen, dining and living area all being connected. The location was lovely and the host was really friendly. The house was very clean and organised. I'm sure it would also be very cosy in the winter time with the underfloor heating and real stove fire. Everyone that went had a very good time and we would go back again!

Miss Rawlings

Perfect for a large family holiday. Good walks and the surrounding area was excellent. Local pub was an easy walk with a nice atmosphere and very good food. For a large property it takes a lot of beating.

Mr Hooper

The area is great for walking and outdoor activities and only a 5 minutes walk to Tittesworth reservoir. The Roaches are also close enough to walk to, about 30 minutes. The Lazy Trout pub in the village does great food and ales. The lounge and kitchen area of The Rindle was perfect for a sociable time with our family. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. Nice and warm with plenty of hot water for everyone. A lovely time was had by everyone, thank you!

Mrs Melhuish

The welcome from the owners was very warm. The chocolates, wine and flowers were lovely touches. The entire property was spotless and very well equipped. It was really nice to go to a large property that catered for large groups and was very well thought out.
Cooking facilities were excellent - massive cooking pots and the oven/cooker heated up quickly and was easy to cook on for large groups.
It was also pleasing to have so many bathrooms with excellent water pressure - whether a stand alone shower or over the bath. And best of all, the open plan living space was superb. Fantastically large dining table and plenty of space in the lounge area for everyone to sit down and relax.

Mrs Payne

Very friendly welcome, the cottage was lovely, nothing was too much trouble, even the dog and chickens gave us a welcome. Lots to do at the reservoir and excellent pub in Meerbrook within walking distance.

The property is a barn conversion. There was ample room for sitting and relaxing in the large lounge/dining kitchen. The rooms were spacious and well furnished. The setting is beautiful, Meerbrook is a tiny village close to Tittesworth reservoir which has an excellent playground for children of all ages. The Lazy Trout is the village pub within walking distance of Alderlee Farm where the Rindle is situated. We enjoyed an excellent meal there and were well looked after. The week went very quickly, there is so much to see and do. We recommend the Monsal Trail for cycling or walking.

The owners were warm, friendly and welcoming. The layout is perfect to allow everyone to be in the same place at the same time, which was especially great if you usually spend a lot of your time in the kitchen; but also generally allowed everyone to freely mingle and catch up with one another! Perfect for a group holiday. Beautiful scenery on your doorstep and a playground minutes away for children, young and old! Thoroughly enjoyable.
