Find My Favourite Holiday Cottages in Theburton

The village of Theberton is located in the county of Suffolk, in Southeast England, near the market town of Saxmundham. Holiday cottages in Theberton are perfectly located for exploring the county’s salt marshes, shingle beaches, forests and estuaries. The countryside around the village is wonderfully unspoiled and ideal for long walks and watching the sun set over the area’s peaceful, mostly flat landscapes. The village has had a number of well-known residents, including the founding father of Adelaide in Australia, William Light, and the Victorian Photographer Robert Howlett. Take a stroll from your Theberton holiday cottage, along quiet country lanes lined with hedgerows, into the village centre.

Several historical landmarks to look out for, including St. Peter’s Church, on Church Road. Nearby, the Lion is a charming pub serving a variety of local ales and excellent food, including a popular Sunday roast. Directly to the village’s east, RSPB Minsmere is a beautiful nature reserve with wetlands criss-crossed by trails where rare birds can be spotted. A short drive from Theberton, Sizewell Beach is a glorious stretch of sand and shingle shore where swimming and sunbathing can be enjoyed. Behind the beach is a café serving good food and coffee and an 18th-century pub, The Vulcan Inn. Further south, Aldeburgh is a charming town with fine Tudor architecture and another stunning beach.

Not to be missed on self-catering holidays in Theberton, Saxmundham is an ancient market town on the banks of the River Fromus.
