Pool View, Shipston-upon-Stour

Pool View has been recently restored to combine traditional charm with up-to-date comfort. This Warwickshire holiday home is part of an 18th-century water mill and retains many original features: exposed beams, steep staircases, and large mill windows that make the most of the exceptional views.

We are happy to help with enquiries or local information and welcome Pool View residents to enjoy our garden, a river island that splits the River Stour to feed the mill stream. It has a weir and a giant weeping willow, and other visitors can include anything from swans and kingfishers to a heron and even the occasional otter. Children are welcome, but they do need to be supervised.

The non-smoking, no-pets accommodation is on two floors. The living room, fully fitted kitchen/dining room, and WC are on the first floor. Upstairs, there is one double bedroom and one twin/double bedroom. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. In addition to basics, you will find a welcome hospitality gift, including fruit and flowers.

Pool View is available for long and short stays. Changeover is on Fridays for weekly and weekend breaks. Mid-week breaks are Monday to Friday. Please do ask if you have any particular dates that need accommodating. When possible, we are happy to be flexible.

When booking or enquiring, please tell us that you found this Warwickshire holiday cottage in Shipston-on-Stour on the My Favourite Holiday Cottages website. Thank you.

Xmas 2015

Perfect place to spen Xmas. Our daughters were away and we didn't want to spend Xmas home alone so thoguht we'd pick somewhere nice and quiet.

Well the place is certainly that. Everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay...Beautiful surroundings and an easy local pub nearby.

We are going home so relaxed and will certainly recommend this place to friends and family.

Thank you so much for the prosecco, fruit, and biscuits. Little touches which made it even more special.

It's been perfect! such a comfortable well-equiped apartment in beautiful surroundings and Jonathan and Sally are perfect hosts. To add to my joys the teapot pours sweetly without a single drip.

Thank you for the flowers as well.

PS The rabbit meat and eggs from the farm shop are excellent.

We had a lovely stay and wished we could have stayed a bit longer. Half of the things we brought with us we didn't use as the cottage is so well equipped. Only suggestion is a hand rail for getting out of the shower. Us old folk are not as mobile as we once were!
Beautiful location, and a good base for days out.

High summer in a beautiful region in a great country! We didn't meet Shakespeare but read a lot of books and learned a wonderful word: 'kissing-gate'. Just leave your engine and walk around, you won't be disappointed!
