Lee House Farm

Magnificent Luxury Holiday Home in The Pennine Countryside Near Halifax. Sleeps 13

Lee House Farm is a fabulous, stone-built holiday property with a hot tub in the unspoilt and peaceful Shibden Valley.

The property is beautifully decorated and well-appointed throughout, with themed bedrooms, character features, and stunning, far-reaching views of this picturesque, historic valley, made famous by the BBC/HBO series Gentleman Jack. This wonderful home makes the perfect base for families, friends, and couples coming together to celebrate a family event, seek a refreshing escape to the country, or want a base to explore Yorkshire.

Set over three floors, the house boasts five well-presented bedrooms, four of which have their own en-suite facilities, and the fifth is adjacent to the main family bathroom. The house provides many areas for larger groups to gather, unwind, and enjoy the many features this farm offers.

The ground floor boasts a spacious conservatory with a large oak dining table (seating up to 14) and sofas to relax on. The well-equipped kitchen/diner is perfect for brunch or relaxing with a book in the living room, in front of the wood-burning stove.

Immediately outside the conservatory is a patio with a seating area, the perfect spot for a morning coffee or to spend hours in the sun.

Just beyond is a fabulous garden and entertaining space with unobstructed views of the valley, seating, a fire pit, BBQ and an undercover bar area with a fridge. Or seek out the secret garden and soak up the views whilst relaxing in the hot tub!

All outdoor areas are well-lit and can be enjoyed well into the evening, whatever the season. Set on 10 acres of private farmland with only a flock of sheep and wild deer for company, the farm is perfect for responsible dog owners and provides an ideal equine retreat.

There is ample parking for horse boxes, four stables, and numerous bridleways and paths throughout the valley. For nature lovers, a picnic in the secluded bottom field is the perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Watch the comings and goings at the pond, gather some wood and build a fire in the wooded glade, or get your wellies on and follow Red Beck to Shibden Mill Inn, a short ‘scramble’ from the pond. It may be the 14th-best Best Gastropub in the UK, but dogs will get a Yorkshire welcome, too!

Further afield, Halifax is only a short drive away; once the centre of the Yorkshire wool industry, Piece Hall, where wool was once traded, now provides a vibrant cultural centre for residents and visitors alike. You can enjoy great restaurants and bars, browse independent stores, and experience concerts in a unique and unforgettable setting. It is now a well-established concert venue, and recent performances have included Tom Jones, Madness, Blondie, and New Order.

If you want to venture further afield, jump in the car and discover the vibrant Yorkshire towns of Hebden Bridge (of Happy Valley fame), the World Heritage Site of Saltaire, Haworth (birthplace of the Bronte Sisters) or Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine).

For a full day out in nature, set out to discover the true beauty of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, brimming with rolling hills, quaint villages, and picturesque walking trails.

With so much to explore in and around Lee House Farm, you could begin planning your trip to Yorkshire right away.
