Brambles, Weymouth

Situated on our working farm, The Brambles is a delightful, recently renovated one-bedroom cottage ideal for couples or lone travellers wanting a peaceful, rural break. A short walk from this Jurassic Coast cottage, you will see the stunning Chesil Beach. Although only having one bedroom, the Brambles has plenty of space for two people. The main living area has a well-equipped kitchen space and a comfortable sitting area with a sofa and a log fire. There is a table to enjoy a meal together, and French windows lead out onto a secluded south-facing patio with garden furniture to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening. The bedroom can be made up as a double or twin. The bathroom contains a bath and a shower attachment. Nearby you will find the Old Stable, which has table tennis and a Foosball Table Football game. In addition, there is a large collection of novels for you to borrow and a free wifi hotspot to catch up on your emails and social media. There are also laundry facilities.

We try to stick to weekly breaks running Friday to Friday and short breaks out of season - a 3-night break running Friday to Monday and a 4-night break running Monday to Friday. However, we can be flexible if you have different requirements.

The Brambles is on the edge of the small village of Langton Herring, 3 miles from the seaside town of Weymouth. You can walk a short distance from the cottage to the Fleet and Chesil Beach, which forms part of the famous Jurassic Coast featured in the highly popular TV series "Broadchurch". The cottage is surrounded by open fields to explore, and for the very energetic, you can easily join the Coastal Footpath. We farm most of the land surrounding the Brambles, and we are always delighted to show guests around the dairy to see the cows being milked - you may also like to lend a hand feeding the baby calves! Langton Herring has its own pub called the Elm Tree Inn, which is a short walk from the cottage. In the next-door village, Portesham, you will find the Kings Arms, which we highly recommend.

Weymouth is popular for its lovely sandy beach and shallow waters. It also has other attractions such as Sea Life Center, Nothe Fort, Brewers Quay, karting and a multiplex cinema. Nearby Dorchester has a good selection of restaurants at the newly opened Brewers Square, such as Nandos, Waggamamas, Carluccios and Cote.

Dorset is also home to many stunning country houses and gardens open to visitors, the Tank Museum at Bovington, Monkey World, and many fantastic country pubs.

Great Cottage

Great cottage with all the facilities. Brilliant quiet position with just the birds waking you up in the morning. Jane is a great host and pops by to see if all is up to standard. Milk in the fridge ready for a cuppa after a long journey too. Great touches. And dog friendly! This is our 3rd stay and can’t recommend the cottages enough.

Kings Arms for great Sunday dinner.
Monkey World great for kids.
From Lyme Regis to Lulworth Cove plenty to see and do need 2 weeks to see all of the Jurassic coast.

Well appointed cottage

The Brambles is a beautiful, well appointed cottage. Lots of care and time has been spent to ensure everything is in perfect condition and extremely comfortable. In a good location, with a local pub, and not too far from other places of interest to visit. A small shop in the village would be quite useful. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Ducks farm shop was our main port of call for our own cooking. Lovely fresh local produce.
