The owners converted this natural Cotswold stone barn into a fabulous child-friendly cottage with underfloor heating. It boasts many original features, including vaulted ceilings, exposed beams in the south-facing kitchen diner, and real stone flooring throughout.
The open plan living space includes a large dining area with seating for six and sitting area with wood-burning stove, comfy sofa and two armchairs, and a flat-screen TV with free satellite. The well-equipped kitchen includes a breakfast bar and small dining table offering views of the surrounding countryside.
The entrance hall leads to the shower room and utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs, access the master bedroom with twin Velux roof windows and large en-suite bathroom and twin bedroom via a galleried landing with glass balustrades overlooking the living area. Each bedroom comes with a small flat-screen TV.
Twin bi-fold doors offer easy access to the patio and walled garden with charcoal barbecue for al fresco dining whist the children play on the lawn.
The village of Ablington lies on the River Coln and has a 16th-century manor house. A short walk across the fields takes you to the popular tourist destination of Bibury, once described as “the most beautiful village in the Cotswolds” and boasting traditional tea houses and many historic buildings along Arlington Row.
