High Cloud Farm, Monmouth

Large and Pet-Friendly Farmhouse with a Hot Tub and Games Room. Sleeps 24

Located at the end of a mile-long private drive, two Wye Valley holiday properties on a 30-acre country estate in Monmouthshire, The Farmhouse and The Barn sleep a combined total of 24 people, with the dining table in The Barn able to seat 20 in one sitting. The farmhouse can accommodate up to 12 guests, with a further 10 accommodated in The Barn.

Set in a wonderfully secluded rural location with far-reaching countryside views, these two Monmouthshire holiday cottages are places for friends and families to escape from the noise and bustle of modern living to an oasis of calm where the only noise comes courtesy of the weather and birdsong.

High Cloud will tick many boxes if you plan a large family gathering, a celebration, or just a reunion with friends. Facilities include a heated outdoor swimming pool, a hot tub (available all year), a large games room, and even a jogging track around the perimeter of the High Cloud estate. Alternatively, relax and BBQ or picnic in the grounds on warm sunny days and evenings and watch the occasional hot air balloon drift slowly overhead.

For more calorie-burning activities, there are plenty of opportunities to cycle virtually traffic-free lanes, canoe or cruise on the River Wye, or even plan your own hot-air balloon ride (exhilaration thrives on calories, too).

Big but cosy sitting rooms (with Sky TV), spacious modern fully-equipped kitchens, high-quality bathrooms, and light and airy bedrooms perfectly describe The Farmhouse. Beyond it, there is nothing but views of distant rolling hills and the sky. Living rooms comprise the luxuriously furnished kitchen-breakfast area, a huge lounge with French windows into the grounds and a dining area with a table large enough to seat all guests. Beyond the house (see the map of the Estate in the photo section) lies the Games Room, equipped with table tennis, pool, quoits, table skittles and table football. In dry weather, there's plenty of lawn space for croquet, badminton and football, while in late summer- early autumn, feel free to gather plums from the orchard.

The Barn, being all on one level with ramped access and wide doors, is wheelchair accessible and appealing to those needing to avoid stairs while on holiday. The property comprises two linked units, each having its own kitchen/breakfast spaces. Bedrooms comprise:

" 2 Double bedrooms with king-size beds

" 4 twin bedrooms

" 2 bathrooms with shower and WC

" 1 bathroom with bath and WC

" 2 separate cloakrooms.
